Looking For a Mousehole

My Mommys are out of town visiting The Land of Mouse in SoCal. Today is Mommy #1's birthday. She is 17!

I miss them a lot so I am currently looking for a Mousehole to Disney so I can join them.

The Fart Queen

Rumor has it that I FART a lot. So I asked Mommy #2 why are THEY saying such things about me.
"Well, Noodles," Mommy said. "You are prone to gassiness. That's what PUGS do. But, let's see if we can find out why"

So in true Mommy fashion, she asked GOOGLE

Pages and pages and PAGES of Pug Fart things came up from the search. PAGES!!! I guess there really is such a thing. Hmmmmm! Who knew?

"Look here, Noodles," said Mom. "It says here there are many factors that lead to PUG FARTs - diet, speed pug eats (ahem), and sensitive digestion system.
But, I know diet is NOT one of your problems because we give you high quality food from Chewy.com specifically because cheaper foods make you belch and fart more!"

Turns out that the gassiness comes mostly from eating excessive fermentable foods like cauliflower, beans AND SOY!

SOY!!!! Note what's in your kibble, furiends. There just might be some SOY hidden somewhere as a filler.

So I told Mommy that I simply did not want to be known as the FART QUEEN of Casa de Noodles so we MUST do something about it.

As luck would have it, Ms. Sydney from Chewy.com, had a special favor to ask of us THAT COULD SOLVE the question of FARTING! She asked us to check out Purina's probiotic additive Forti Flora and we said SURE, why not.

It arrived on FRIDAY -

We will begin testing it on Oct 1, 2015 for 30 days. We will let you know how it is working as the trial goes along. If you want to check out this product for yourself, you can find it at Chewy.com or here, on the Purina Pro Plan website https://www.proplan.com/

MY GOAL???? To decrease the NUMBER of FARTS per day AND to lessen the POTENCY of the SMELL of my farts.

I am not being paid for my opinions about this product. Nor is anyone scripting my results. I have received the above product free of charge for the sole purpose of testing its usefulness, effectiveness, and overall quality.

You might be asking WHY PROBIOTICS? Is this anything like that POOP YOGURT Jamie Lee Curtis advertises?

Yes, it is - here's why (we lifted this from WEBmd.com)

Mary Jo DiLonardo
WebMD Feature Reviewed by David Kiefer, MD
Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your health, especially your digestive system. We usually think of bacteria as something that causes diseases. But your body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called "good" or "helpful" bacteria because they help keep your gut healthy.

Probiotics are naturally found in your body. You can also find them in some foods and supplements.

It's only been since about the mid-1990s that people have wanted to know more about probiotics and their health benefits. Doctors often suggest them to help with digestive problems. And because of their newfound fame, you can find them in everything from yogurt to chocolate.

Fry Day Cuz It's Gonna Be ANOTHER HOT One

This weather is CAH-RAY=ZEE lately! Well, it kinda has for years now. I expect HOT in September, half of which is the last part of Summer. But this cool one week and scorching the next - well it has me in a DITHER, I tell you! A DITHER

*Note Number TWO of Noun. . . that is so totally how I feel!

AnyWHO

Today is no exception - it's gonna be HOT again. Too hot for a puggy like me to wander around the yard, sit in the sun, take the in sights, sounds, and smells. And I am SO OVER IT! Give me the temperate temps the SOUTH BAY is famous for - the sunny but mild days with a fog-kissed breeze. Those are perfect days for a flat faced BEAUTY like MOI.

Changing Subjects, ARE you all gonna watch the BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE this weekend? I sure am!!! The next one isn't until 2033 and I am pretty sure MY PRESENT INCARNATION will not be around to see it. In spirit, maybe. But I am so excited about this one I cannot miss it. Blood moon. . . been there, done that. But with an eclipse??? Hot Diggety DOG.

And that's about it. I have my BIG Walkathon next weekend so I am decreasing my workouts a little to preserve my strength. I am also CARB LOADING so I will be at my peak. I mean, 5K is a pretty far distance for somepuggy my size. If you have a chance, check it out. Looks like a lot of fun and my FURiends from Woodrow Wear (therapeutic sox for dogs of all sizes - I wear them on my front paws when I go on walkies because I tend to drag them) will be there so I can give them lots of cuddles and kisses.

I will probably talk about this A LOT next week leading up to the MAIN EVENT.

Have a SUPER weekend and Keep Cool.

PEANUTize ME

I decided to try that new APP everypuggy is raving about - the PEANUTIZE YOURSELF app. Yeah, it's a gimmick to promote the new Peanuts Movie soon to hit the theaters. But newsflash! It is a lot of fun. At least I think it is.
  1. Pick whether or not you are a boy or girl ------------ Easy, I'ma GIRL
  2. Pick hair color ------------------------------------------- There was no FAWN so I picked the closest one
  3. Pick eye shape ------------------------------------------- There was no liquid lovely so I chose HAPPY
  4. Pick clothes -----------------------------------------------Uh, no thank you
  5. Pick accessories ------------------------------------------ Duh, same as clothes
  6. Pick background ----------------------------------------- I just wanted to focus on ME

VOILA!!

This doesn't really look like me. . . .  I think it has something to do with the ears.

Dancin' Like No One is Watchin'

Do you like to Dance? I do. I really really do - WITH or without music, it doesn't matter. There are times I go outside and just DANCE to the music of my neighborhood. There is the bass like the cars on the road make. . . the upbeat buzz of the bees in the honeysuckle. . . the lilting trill of the birds in our apple tree. . . MUSIC is really everywhere.

Then again, there is the music in my head. You know the KIND. That song you heard and liked and is NOW playing INCESSANTLY in your head. It's okay because. . . it is DANCEABLE. A little cha-cha to Ricky Martin music can make the time go by so pleasantly.

So come on. Get up off your bed (or your human's bed, wink, wink) and come dance with me. Music is everywhere. . .

Five, Six, Seven, EIGHT, and DANCE!

Caught in the ACT of Something

US? We aren't doing anything. . .

Don't you hate it when you are caught doing something you perhaps shouldn't?
And when the evidence is NEAR or ON your body, it is even worse!
And when there is picture evidence. . . ?

I have NO idea how that got there!

OMP, what can I say to exonerate myself from blame?
I am pretty sure it was all Molly's fault.
Look at HER Guilty mug!

Summer is Fading Fast

Summer is Fading fast
Fall is upon us at last
Gone is the Gold of the grasses in the field
Wind whipped leaves in piles yield
A hint of Winter's barren branches

Summer's last Breath is nigh
Warm light breezes like a sigh
The Dawn's late rise a harbinger
Just a taste of coolness lingers
Through the morning

Keeping Promises

I pride myself on HONESTY and CONSISTENCY and all 'round NICETY. So why is there an OLD, or rather, RE-USED photo of me on today's blog?

It is because MY MOMMY has broken her promise to take more pictures of ME more OFTEN. She has not taken a single FRAME since last weekend. Today, being Thursday, means almost a whole week has gone by with nary a click of the CAMERA.

Promises mean a lot to me. I make them all the time - and unlike SOME humans, I keep mine. I promise to POTTY outside. . . and I keep that promise every single day. Open the door for me and I will potty outside all the time. Can't say the same for Sunshine the Cat. She potties inside and in a box - most of the time. She has been known to "FORGET" about where she should poop. Truly. AND Molly, bless her blondeness, will "FORGET" to ring the bells to go outside if she is too sleepy or too excited. Granted, it is a rare event. But it happens. I do not "forget" to potty outside. Except that ONE TIME not long ago. But that's because I was whining and yipping to go outside and no one OPENED THE DOOR.

I promise to snuggle with MOMMY #1 and #2 on a nightly basis AND I DO IT. I promise to CLEAN MY PLATE and I do it with aplomb.

What I'm saying is this - MOMMY get your act together and take some more pictures of me for my blog. And I don't mean a snap here and a snap here. I am looking for real PHOTO JOURNALISM, pictures that tell a story so that when I put it on my blog, I can create just from seeing it.

It's The Chunky Chicken (by Weruva) - a Product Review for Chewy.com

Adapted from
Do The Funky Chicken
Original Lyrics by Rufus Thomas
video

Y'all come on in now
Come right on down front
I got something I want to show you
Now y'all heard of the KIBBLE
Y'all heard of the Dog FOOD
You heard about all your other EATIBLES
But now there's a brand new MEAL
That's going around
I want to show you exactly what I'm talking about
I'm talking about the WERUVA CHUNKY Chicken Soup with Pumpkin , y'all ready?

You raise the left arm up
And your right arm too
Let me tell you just what to do
Start both of 'em to flapping
You start your feet to kicking
That's when you know
You ASKIN' for the Weruva Chunky Chicken Soup with Pumpkin

Chock full of Goodness
You gotta run real FAST
You gotta find your BOWL
Can't make it last
Gotta lick that BOWL real CLEAN
  Then you know you EATIN'
WERUVA Chunky Chicken Soup with Pumpkin

   Oh, I'm feeling it now
I feel so HUNGRY
This is Da' BOMB
This is the kind of FOOD
To make you feel like you
Want to do something CRAZY
Like waste some chicken gravy
On your white FURS
Right down front here we go y'all

We would like to THANK CHEWY.COM for the chance to TEST out WERUVA CHUNKY CHICKEN SOUP with PUMPKIN!!! It was not soupy at all!!! Oh no, no, no! It was full of REAL CHUNKS OF REAL CHICKEN! Even the "Noodles" were made of CHICKEN. And there are WHOLE PEAS and CARROTS in the "soup"!!

Check out what the label reads:
Chicken (Boneless, Skinless, White Breast), Water Sufficient For Processing, Pumpkin, Carrot, Green Pea, Potato Starch, Sunflower Seed Oil, Dicalcium Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Choline Chloride, Zinc Sulfate, Vitamin E Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Nicotinic Acid (Vitamin B3), Ferrous Sulfate, Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Supplement, Potassium Iodide, Manganese Sulfate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Copper Sulfate, Riboflavin Supplement (Vitamin B2), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 Supplement.

NOTE - No FILLERS!!!! No Chemical additives! No ARTIFICIAL COLOR!!! Just good plain food with naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.

And the taste???? Please note Molly trying to eat the cans. Even the cans smell good. But the food smells better. We go KOO KOO for KOKOPUFFS when Mommy pulls out the cans. Even Sunshine HAS to have some on her food or she REFUSES to EAT!

We even gave a can to our good FURiend Max who is a picky GSD, if you can believe that. Auntie B even said he sometimes takes ALL DAY to eat his kibble. So she topped it with some WERUVA CHUNKY CHICKEN SOUP with PUMPKIN and GUESS WHAT???? He gobbled it down and ASKED for MORE!

We are giving this tasty and healthy and wonderful food TWELVE PAWS UP with an additional FOUR from MAX  . . . . as being one of the best we've ever eaten!

The real test, though, is when I have my weigh-in on Sunday. If it made me gain weight (Mommy measures my portions very carefully) then we will have to knock off some PAWS!! But honestly, I don't think we will have to.

Gotta lick that bowl REAL clean!

We were not paid for our opinions in this post. We were given some WERUVA CHUNKY CHICKEN SOUP with PUMPKIN from chewy.com for the sole (and soul) purpose of testing the product. Thank you chewy.com for this opportunity.

Monday's Cool

No. I still don't like Mondays much. That headline is a teaser. It says one thing but means another. Heehee. Get it?

Today the weather has cooled down considerably. A good 20 degrees from last Monday. Mommy has on long pants AND shoes rather than the shorts and flip flops she has been wearing all Summer. Today is slightly overcast (high clouds, not my beloved fog) and humid. It might even rain a little up north WHERE they really need it.

Over the weekend a couple of fires started up and have raged out of control. It is scary scary scary. Yes, I live in Suburbia. Yes, the dry grassy areas are up the hill from me - a good ways from me. But that doesn't mean a thing once a fire gets raging. One town in Napa suffered 138 lost home and one death. This was in less that 2 days. Rain will help fire crews get those fired under control. I have never prayed for rain more in MY LIFE than I have this year.

Anyways. . .

Mommy is working from home today. So as far as Mondays go, this one really is COOL. So bring it on MONDAY. I can handle it.

Hot Dog Friday

Folks. . . it is HOT here is SUNNY CALIFORNIA. All week we have had temperatures in the 90s - 100s! Normally our natural AIR CONDITIONING, the famous FOG rolls in after a couple of days and makes the temps drop. Not this week. It just keeps getting hotter and hotter.

That is a little to much for this PUG.

I spend a lot of time in the air-conditioned house. Face it. . . pugs are not the most active of dogs so lazing in my crate or lounging on the sofa are the norm. But sometimes I get an URGE to wander outside and enjoy the smells and sounds of our backyard. I can stay out for 30 minutes or so just wandering from bush to bush, fence to fence taking it all in.

So yesterday, and because Mommy was home, I walked to the backdoor and asked to go out. I was ready for a little ME time, you know. Mommy opened the door to let me out and then she went back to what she was working on. This is normal.

But when I walked out the doors, I was BLASTED with a wall of heat! It was only 9 am. . . so what was going on? I turned to return indoors to the cool air when I saw Mommy round the corner so she couldn't see me. I was sure I was imagining the blast furnace so I continued outside the screenroom. Well, let me tell you, that wall of HEAT I experienced when I first walked out was NOTHING compared to the scorching sunshine that assaulted me when I hit the yard. Oy!!! It was H-O-T!!!

I did my bidness, because by this time I needed to, and quickly headed back to the house. It was too too much for me. I was exhausted from the little exertion I spent. As luck would have it, Mommy saw me and promptly let me in. I was so happy I jumped up and kissed her knee (that is all I can reach when she is standing)!

I am hoping this HOT HOT Weather moves on over the weekend. I got things to do, people to see. I can't be messing with no HOT weather! Fog, if you are out there, please listen to my pleas and return A.S.A.P! This little pug misses you.

Incapable Of Making a Decision

Do you see this pug here? This one. . . right above these WORDS? This pug is incapable of deciding who to ask to the Sadie Hawkins dance. There are so many possible boys to choose from. .  . How can I choose just one?

I have lost countless hours of sleep worrying over who to ask. If you'd LIKE me to ask you, let me know. If you KNOW somepuggy (does not have to be a pug) who would like to go with me, LET ME KNOW.

I cannot make a decision.

Lessee. . . am I tired or hungry? I just don't know.

What Do You Do With A Box?

The delivery man worked overtime the other day delivering stuff to our door. Many of you guessed the BOX Molly was in was a chewy.com box. In truth it was NOT. While we did receive a box of goodness from chewy.com, it was NOT THE BOX from which Molly peered out. It was instead a much LARGER box. . . a very special box. . . the SEWING MACHINE that Aunt B ordered BOX.

It was such a sturdy and special box that it just cried out for more than the RECYCLE BIN. So Cousin E grabbed some crafting tools and began to make something magical happen.

First she removed the tape from the top. Then she cut an ARCH like doorway on one side. I thought that was pretty cool in and of itself. Instantly the box was transformed into a PUG CAVE which I thought was meant for ME. It was not to be, though, as Cousin E was busy creating some more.

She grabbed some cardboard from another carton (I think my CHEWY.COM box, to be honest) and created a roof similar to this one. Ours a little more peaked but I didn't have a good photo of it so I BORROWED a photo from GOOGLE.

Then Cousin E put Molly's favorite quilt on the bottom of the box and VOILA! A new clubhouse for Molly and me!!! See me behind Molly's shoulder? We can both fit perfectly.

I decided it was a good time to TEST DRIVE the sleepability of our new CLUBHOUSE. Look how proud Molly is standing next to our place. Since this photo was taken, some decorating has taken place and the casita has a gold border added. I think it needs some paint but we cannot decide on a color. MAYBE PINK????

I think it is perfect. Now if only we could keep SUNSHINE from hogging the clubhouse. . .

The Possibilities Are Endless

Twin Strangers

Both Pugs - not at all alike

I saw an interesting article online yesterday about these two women - total strangers - who look so alike they could be twins. Weird. And know what? They totally do look like twins. It's kind of eerie, really.
From Huffington Post - these ladies are not at all related
and are 10 years apart in age

I am used to twins - my Mommy #2 and Aunt B (not to be confused with Auntie B) are identical twins and it takes a while to be totally comfortable with which one is Mommy and which one is not. Even the human kids have troubles sometimes - at a glance one cannot be sure who is who.

But total strangers? That's just RAD!!! I want to find my twin stranger. I think it would be fun to find another PUG PRINCESS who possesses my unique characteristics. Because, contrary to popular belief, not all pugs look alike. Look around at your family or group of friends. Do you all look alike? Mine sure do not.

Pug Sunday San Francisco - borrowed from Google search
Point being - do ALL of these pugs look ALIKE?
So if you THINK you know who my twin stranger is, let me know! You can comment here or email me at noodlesthepugATaolDOTcom OR you can even Facebook me HERE.

Tabby Tuesday

I don't think we do enough Sunshine days. And to be frank (as in Frank the Tank), I am not inclined to put my tongue out for Tongue out Tuesday. I lick all the time but too fast for a decent photo, according to Mommy.

SO here she is - our numero uno TABBY cat, Sunshine.
