Mommy is Back And She is All Marched Up!

Mommy came back on Saturday night. She was gone such a long long time and I missed her so much. She immediately gave me a huge hug and cuddle which made me feel good. And for the first time in FOREVER I got to sit on her lap a long time AND I got to sleep with her. It was the best sleep ever.
So Mommy went on the Women's' March on Washington. She felt it was important to let the elected representatives know that she was upset with some of the new administration's policies against women. That was her main concern. There were a lot of issues on the agenda for the march and there were many people there from both sides of the political landscape. That's because the First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech - and the March was an exercise in freedom of speech.

Mommy wore a hat similar to this. It was the uniform of the March, sorta. Wearing the hat was completely optional and there were a lot of people who did not wear them. Here is an interesting fact - there were 500,000 marchers in Washington D.C. with Mommy.

So Mommy told me she and her friends got up at 5 am so they could be at the METRO station by 6:30 and get to the March site early. The March did not start until 10 am but since the press was predicting 250,000 marchers, it made more sense to go early. The closer to start time the most dense the crowds. As a matter of fact, by 1pm on March Day the Metro had recorded over 400,000 riders.

Spotty Like a Dalmatian

Hi EveryPuggy

It is I, Noodles the Pug who has been MISSING IN ACTION for most of the week. Did you see? Did you notice how SPOTTY our posting has been this month? I told my assistant, Mommy, that this was unacceptable. She said sorry - but you know. . .

She has spent the WHOLE week so far in her office doing. . . who knows what. And here I am sitting by my lonesome and no BLOG for company. So I am apologizing for her NOW. And to make matters worse, she is leaving in a FEW SHORT HOURS and will not be home for 9 days. Too long. . . too long.

So I want you to know she is going to TRY and write my posts (I gave her a list of topics) but she says the BLOGGER apps are spotty AT BEST. She may just do little tweetlike posts from her phone if she can figure it out.

I DO NOT want you to forget about me. Okay? I am here and doing well just like usual. We will return to more consistent posts with the Chinese New Year, I promise.

Honoring Dr. King and Mommy's Mission

Does this hat make me look like a CAT?

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
Martin Luther King

No Matter WHAT side you came out on for this past election, one thing was very very clear - we the people of the United States have become too complacent and things have gone WAY outta control.

Mommy decided that she was not going to be a bystander or silently stand by as people are discriminated against, marginalized, excluded, victimized, and so on.

No more. She is going to follow my EXAMPLE and bark at anything that looks wrong to her.

* I tend to stay away from too much politics on this blog - but to honor Dr. King (and I really wanted to) I had to "go there." I hope none of you are offended as the truth is I accept all points of view even if they are different from my own.

Thoughts on a Thursday in January

I was sitting by the heater this morning just a-thinkin' about LIFE. I do that sometimes - when Sunshine the Cat is not hogging the floor vent, that is. We have the best floor vent in the world! It is located in a low traffic spot IN THE KITCHEN! I mean, for a PUG the kitchen is like . . . VALHALLA or NIRVANA or HEAVEN! The best. Anyhow, we often fight over the spot because one side is against the shoji screen so it is sheltered and uber warm, and the other side is open to the room. The good thing about that side is the quick exit to grab a falling morsel.

So this morning I happened to snag the inside corner while Sunshine was still PICKING through her food. There I sorta lolled against the shoji screen (well, the cabinet below the screen) and let my mind wander.

Some things came up like -

  1. I'ma missing Stella Rose Long and her crew. I know how hard life has been for her mommy and daddy lately. That sure happens A LOT. But selfishly, I loved loved LOVED reading about their adventures and their daddy's progress and setbacks. I bask in the warmth of their family as all of the furless kids grow up. I mean, one look at Macey's smile can make my day. BUT I understand the need to pull back. I only hope that SR and her mommy know I am here 24/7 to listen, nod my noggin in sympathy, and express my deepest love. And when they return to Blogville, as I hope they do, I will be here to welcome them back with open arms.

  2. The Rainbow Bridge is too full right now so my FURIENDS need to stop crossing over for a while. I really really love my FURIENDS. And when Winston Wilbur crossed the bridge, well a piece of my heart went with him. I need time to rebuild my heart. So listen - right now - Sit! STAY!

  3. That even on the stormiest of days there is still a ray of sunshine poking through AT SOME POINT. I am going to look for that sunshine and quit dwelling on the rain.

  4. That said, I am happy CALIFORNIA is getting rain again. It makes everything so much happier in SPRING. It also means the strawberries will be abundant come MAY. My mouth is watering already.

Molly Update - Major Goof By Vet

So here's the thing. Molly totally has her teeth still. They are cleaner and all - but that is NOT what she was at the vet for. Nope. She was in for extraction of some really bad teeth and instead they were doing the dental and noticed some bad teeth. So they called - HOME - where only me and Molly were at. And we DO NOT answer the phone under penalty of JAIL (crate).

So they left message after message and then decided to wake her up and leave it at that. Well, that was not what she was in for. She has to go back on Tuesday for the bad teeth. In the meantime she also has pain meds and antibiotics for the BAD TEETH and the resulting pain.

Poor Molly.

Toofers Juju For Molly

See that lovely grin? Well after today this might be all that's left of Molly's toofers - if any. Despite good dental care by her Mommies and her Vet, her teeth are all loose and infected. The vet thinks it might be a genetic thing.

All I know is

  1. I now get ALL of the crunchy KIBBLE
  2. I get ALL of the crunchy and chewy TREATS
  3. I can whine all I want but Molly will get ALL of the wet and dehydrated foods that are so yummy. I might get a little.
So if you have time to send some juju her way, please do. Dentals are always so scary for PUPS.

As January Deepens, Things Return To The Almost Normal

Mommy #1 returned to dorm life this weekend. It was a sad time for me and Mommy #2 because we had grown so used to having her around again. I have even slept with her for the past MONTH which was such a treat (no worries Mommy #2, I love to sleep with you too). But as the saying goes - all good things must come to an end.

I sat with her during the afternoon when we were watching a movie. It was the most enjoyable movie ever because I was snuggled on her LAP.

Have fun at college Mommy. I will be anxiously awaiting June and your return home.

Stella and Chewy Does It Again - It's Tops #chewyinfluencer

In December we had the pleasure of trying another product from Stella and Chewy. If you recall, this company produces "raw" meal alternatives BUT they are freeze-dried. We tried the Chick'n Patties and all of us SCREAMED FOR OUR SUPPERS (because it takes soooooo long to rehydrate the patties!!! [Mommy interjection - it takes under 10 minutes to rehydrate and cool]). But we loved loved loved the food so much that we could not get enough of it. Even Sunshine the Cat insisted on being included.

So when Ms Sydney from Chewy.com told us there was a new Stella and Chewy item to try and write a review on - well we were totally onboard. It arrived just before CHRISTMAS and we decided that was fitting because it was like a gift to ourselves.

Stella & Chewy's SuperBlends Cage-Free Small Breed Chicken Recipe Meal Mixers Freeze-Dried Dog Food is for TOPPING your kibble or canned food. It adds raw nutrition to your meal AND includes a healthy dose of real fruits and vegetables along with the protein rich meat. It is available in GRASS FED BEEF, DUCK DUCK GOOSE, and the one we love CAGE FREE CHICKEN.

This is the freeze-dried topping but it can also be hydrated
so it looks like canned food - but better

What I like most about this topper, and I am sure Molly agrees, is it satisfied me and I had no need to beg for more food to fill me up. I'M NOT SAYING I stopped accompanying everyone to the kitchen in hopes of a tasty morsel being tossed my way. BUT, I didn't HAVE to and that is the difference. This is some good eats.

To PROVE it, here are the ingredients. . .

Chicken With Ground Bone, Chicken Liver, Chicken Gizzard, Organic Bananas, Organic Wild Blueberries, Organic Strawberries, Pumpkin Seed, Potassium Chloride, Organic Cranberries, Organic Spinach, Organic Broccoli, Organic Beets, Sodium Phosphate Monobasic, Organic Carrots, Organic Squash, Organic Apples, Choline Chloride, Dried Pediococcus Acidilactici Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Bifidobacterium Longum Fermentation Product, Tocopherols (Preservative), Calcium Carbonate, Zinc Proteinate, Zinc Sulfate, Iron Sulfate, Iron Proteinate, Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Copper Sulfate, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Manganese Proteinate, Thiamin Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Calcium Iodate, Vitamin B12 Supplement

I would not hesitate one bit to recommend Stella and Chewy's SuperBlends to anypuggy. There are no grains and no fillers to mess with even the most sensitive systems. And the flavor - well it is like
Star Trek - where no man (pug) has gone before!

Right now Chewy.com has it on special so click THIS LINK and check it out for yourself.

*We were provided with enough product of which to test and develop an opinion. We were not paid for anything we said and no one puts Noodles in the cor . . . I mean, no one tells us what to write. It is all our own opinions, period. And we that Chewy.com for letting is have this opportunity.

Ear Flaps with Ear Flaps

Mom went to Target
Mom bought me this Hat
I'll be plotting my revenge now

I just have to say something here and now. . . what is with these hats? I mean, I would have no problem wearing a hat if it didn't make me look ridiculous. Take this hat, for instance. . . it has fake fur (mine is real, thank you very much) and a pom pom of fake fur on top. And there are ear flaps above the ear flaps as if someone did not get the message about ear flaps COVERING the ears. And my ears do not fit in the secondary ear flaps so they stick straight out. Even Molly with her long floppy ears looks dorky in this hat.

I know, I know. . . it was on sale and cost almost less than a cup o joe, as Mommy #2 put it. But what I wanna know is ........................................WHY?

It's A-Pout Time

Mommy was eating a sandwich so I asked her for some.
She said no.
So I asked again - not a lot, just a taste, I said.
She said no.
So I looked at her with my big brown liquidy eyes.
She was unswayed.
So I pouted.
She rolled her eyes.
I kept pouting.
She finished her sandwich without sharing with me.
I think I am losing my touch.
