Stoppin' for Shoppin'
My Mommy works two jobs and one of them is at the Mall. She works at a big cookware chain. She said this year people were Christmas shopping as soon as the last piece of candy dropped in the last Trick-or-Treater's pillowcase.
It has been so busy, she said, that people don't even take time to walk their dogs BEFORE they go shopping! Instead there is a growing number of people SHOPPING WITH THEIR DOGS! And we aren't talking mini-dogs like Chihuahuas, Toy Poodles and Yorkies - those have been a mall staple for YEARS. Nope, we are talking MAJAH DOGGIES like Cocker Spaniels and Retrievers! She said she even saw a BIGGER dog like a Sheep Dog one time!
I have, on occasion, accompanied my Mommys to Target, Walgreens, etc. But these were EMERGENCY trips and not leisurely shopping excursions. I do not think I could TOLERATE the NOISE, crowds, and TEDIUM of a long shopping trip.
Unless, of course, my Mommy invested in one of those POOCHIE STROLLERS. I think I could enjoy a jaunt to the MALL in that. I do like a good ride in a stroller. . .
But I digress. If "Tis The Season" is difficult enough plowing through throngs of people in order to find the PERFECT gift, how much more difficult will it be when everyone is also dodging DOGGIES and (possibly) their DOO-DOOS?

Aside from eating, shopping is up there as one of my favorite things. Noodles, would you mind sharing what mall this is? I must keep it in my mind in case we are ever in your area!
Love,
Payton
PS. I am so jealous of your Target trip. That is one of my mom's favorite stores and she's always wanted to take me. Now ours sells fresh food, so there's no way we could get away with it now.
Noodles, Payton loves going shopping because she is always the center of attention and she loves it! :)
I think you're Pugrent should get you a stroller!

Hear, hear!
I wish we had more dog friendly places around here other than just the pet stores! How fun!

Wait. Your shopping malls ALLOW dogs? I'm living in the wrong country/city!
Licks,
Sabrina
I'm afraid if we get Scarlet a stroller, she'll never want to set paw to pavement again!

@Payton - Our Target sells Fresh Food to and that part of the store is OFF LIMITS for me when we shop. But that is okay cuz there are lots of other neat places in the store.
@Sabrina - I am not sure the MALL actually allows dogs but they are not too proactive about telling them to go away.
Love Noodles
Wow, Mack and I would LOVE to go to the mall shopping with hu-mom! Mack has a stroller, too. Now we'll try to convince the humans to take us!!!!
Drools and licks,

This brings back memories. When I was little Mom use to hide me in her coat and take me along to the stores. Then I started to get "wriggly" and people started looking at her like she was about to birth an alien, she lived with that until I also started to pug scream. My shopping days ended.
Hi Noodles,
You should give shopping another try! A few of my favs are Container Store, Apple, & Pottery Barn.
Hugs,
Suki
We would love to go shopping! and Mommy would love to take us shopping too...those are some lucky doggies if you ask us ;)

Hi Noodles, I cant believe its been so busy at the Mall, my Mum used to work in a big department store before she had me and she said that Christmas shoppers are the craziest people around! I cant believe that dogs are allowed in the Mall because here in the UK they have the dreaded "No Dogs Allowed" Sign so I am so jealous of your shopping trip adventures!! Love, Phugs and Licks Frank the Tank xxxxxxxx
It's fun going into people stores because there are so many things on the ground to sniff and attempt to eat. I say "attempt" because I rarely get to actually digest anything due to my mom and dad's quick reflexes. That said, I'll have to let them know that *everybody* is bringing their dogs shopping these days and surely they don't want to be left out, right?
And Noodles, I'd LOVE to see a photo of you in one of those pug strollers! Put it on your Christmas list.
-Love,
Sid.
Dang, lucky pug! Mom is never brave enough to take us in. But I do think that with the upcoming busy holiday sales it would be better for us to stay home. Maybe with a stroller though it would be fine. Putting that on our Chrismas list to PugSanta.
