Oh My PUG! I Love YOU!!

Thank you to all who commented on my cry for validation yesterday. I have just been noticing my numbers falling and wondered if I was still relevant.

SO - THANK YOU

It is so hard nowadays to believe anyone is on the blogs anymore. Face it, we have been usurped by other social media like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I get it. I am one of those who are
hit-and-run type of followers. I read but seldom comment. So I get it. Especially now with the Holidays fast approaching. But I come from a time when Blogville was everything and all of my FURiends were here. And I keep hoping for this to still be true.

THE WEEKEND IS HERE!

Do you have any plans for the weekend? I have a few things on my docket like visiting my Mommy #1 on campus. I love, love, love  being a college student if only for a day. And it is so nice to spend time with her.

I also plan to get outside for some fresh air because the weather is supposed to be super good for OUT-DOORING. I live in the SUBURBS so there isn't a lot of wild open spaces (that allow dogs) but there are some.

I mostly plan to CHILL. I am the best at this. So while the family is bustling about doing their things, I will be found here, in my favorite spot - Molly's Red Bed.

Have a fantastic weekend my FURiends. I love you all!!!

This Old Cat is in The PINK from Nutritious Eating #chewyinfluencer

Does this look like an OLD CAT to you? Nope, not to me either. In fact, I do not feel HALF of my FIFTEEN years. I am in the best shape I have been in years. And it is all thanks to the nutritious GOOD EATS I received from Chewy.com

This food is tasty and is small pellets that are very easy for me to eat. I like food I can control. I come running when it is put in my bowl and I don't leave until the last morsel is in MY TUMMY. It's easy on my older digestion and grain-free because - well, cats don't need grains.

Each serving of NOW provides
  • 100% fresh turkey, salmon and duck -protein to keep me active
  • 100% fresh omega 3 & 6 oils from coconuts and canola - healthy oils for a soft shiny coat
  • Contains wholesome berries, fruits and veggies such as peas, spinach, cranberries, pumpkin, blackberries, alfalfa sprouts, kelp, lentils and carrots - pre and probiotics for healthy digestion
That is a lot of value in an easy to use kibble. I get just kibble in the morning and then a combo of kibble and wet food at night. All in all, a good balanced diet is what keep this kitty in TOP PURRING CONDITION.

SO what more is there for me to add. I like the food and it likes me back. It provides all that I need to make the quality of my life better and for longer.

I award this wonderful food the Casa de Noodles Gold Seal of Approval. It is top notch food that is affordable and available at Chewy.com. Check it our for yourself and I think you will agree with all I have said here.

**We received one bag free of charge from Chewy.com for the purpose of trying the food. We are not paid for our finding, opinions, or reviews. In fact, all opinions expressed in this blog belong to the owners of this blog.

TOP THIS!!! A Noodles The Pug Product Review #chewyinflueuncer

Hi EveryPuggy
Happy Friday! I have had quite a week and I am happy HAPPY. But that is a story for another time. Today I want to share with you a product from Chewy.com that I loves, loves, loves. I am as surprised as you are because it honestly looked a little iffy to me.

But then I thought - Hey it's FOOD! What's there NOT to like?

So I wanted to share with you what I found and encourage you to take the leap and try it yourself. Yes, at the TOP OF THIS REVIEW I want to award

THE CASA DE NOODLES GOLDEN SEAL OF APPROVAL

(I apologize for the lack of graphic. My computer and therefore my photo files are still at the repair store)

So this is how the TESTING PROCESS went down:

1. Start with a CLEAN and EMPTY dish

2. Fill the EMPTY dish with your favorite KIBBLE or MEAT or FISH, whatever you are having for
your meal

3. Open the Honest Kitchen Super Food Pour Overs, in my case Chicken Stew

4. Doesn't this look absolutely YUMMY? It looks that way because it is. There is a scrumptious smelling chicken gravy filled with small bits of chicken, Spinach and KALE.

5. Insert MUZZLE, open mouth, and EAT every last morsel. This is a very yummy addition to any meal.

But I gotta tell you, it is about MORE than taste. This isn't called SUPER FOOD for nothing. Here are the benefits to this topper
  • Slow-cooked, grain-free stew topper is 100% natural and adds a healthy boost of nutrition to your dog's already complete and balanced diet.
  • Antioxidant-rich, meal enhancer made with chunks of free-range chicken, spinach, kale, broccoli and turmeric for an added boost of green goodness for dogs of all breeds and ages.
  • 2 servings are packaged in a BPA-free box, which can easily be opened, poured and closed for every pet parent's convenience.
  • Human grade Pour Overs meets the rigorous FDA safety standards, ensuring the highest quality wet dog food topper
  • Limited-ingredient topper is made in a human food facility with no rendered meals, by-products, grains, artificial colors or flavors, and only the highest quality non-GMO whole foods.

Real Food . . . real TASTY. I cannot encourage you more to try this tasty addition to your healthy diet.

** We received free of charge from Chewy.com one case of the product for the sole purpose of trying it and developing an opinion. And I am proud to report I did develop an opinion which is expressed in this post. As always, any opinion expressed in A BOWL OF NOODLES belongs to me and me alone. I am not paid my opinions nor am I instructed what to write. It is all about me, me, me - Noodles the Pug

Halloween Themed Works For Me

If you know me, and I think you do, you know I love HALLOWEEN. I get to dress up and I get extra treats. I also get some fun stuff like TOYS and treats that are Halloween themed. Mommy bought us some Pumpkin Spiced Greenies. If you have not tried those then you MUST. Chewy.com carries them as do big box pet stores and even Target. I highly recommend them as they are sooooo yummy.

And then Mommy found these on Facebook on Pugnotes page. Pugnotes, as you may or may not know, is the business of my FURiend Archie's mom, Melissa. She makes some really great things like sweater vests and hats. She does paintings, cards, wrapping paper. . . a lot of stuff. If you look on my sidebar you will see the link to her Etsy shop. Anyhow, my most FAVORITE thing that Auntie Melissa makes is the BUMMLIE. We have 6 of them now with the latest addition

Molly and her Boo Bummlie she named "Molly"

Me and Sam, My Boo Bummlie
Do you see Molly's Boo Bummlie looks like HER! Isn't that cool? And of course, mine looks like Me, a fawn pug. These are the coolest toys ever. you can play with them, like Tug O War is a given, and snuggle with them. I also decorate with them because I have so many of them. I love love love Bummlies.

So today this us what we are doing, bonding with our new toys and chomping on our new Greenies.

Dogtoberfest Fun in the Sun

It is that time of year again - Fall. With Fall comes a whole bunch of new things to do. This year we decided to go to Dogtoberfest in Livermore. There we met up with my BEST FURiends, Tiffy and Fezzik. I love, love, love when we get together.

That was No Challenge! Bring It On #chewyinfluencer

It is now hitting the 30 days of my challenge** with The Honest Kitchen Grain free Chicken recipe. I have to say this was THE MOST successful 30 day challenge yet. Throughout this whole month, I have gleefully eaten my kibble with the Honest Kitchen Grain free Chicken recipe as a topper. Molly ate it STRAIGHT UP instead of the canned food she was getting tired of. And it made us both so happy and satisfied. I have to mention this again. I was SATISFIED. This is not a common PUG behavior. We finish a meal and we WANT MORE. I did not ask for more. Now, I still begged like the dickens when someone was in the kitchen or sitting at the table eating a meal. But that is a different dynamic. I'm telling you. . . I was satisfied.

In addition, making the TOPPER and even a MEAL from the dehydrated food was so easy even MOMMY could do it. She measured out the right amount (for my topper it was 2 tablespoons and for Molly's meal it was 1/4 cup) and added the correct amount of tap warm water to it. Then she STIRRED it all up and in under 5 minutes . . . I think closer to 2 minutes . . . we had to canine heads bobbing up and down as they demolished their meal.

Remember, this is a RAW diet in an easy to store and use dehydrated format. There are many advantages to a raw diet and here are some and how Honest Kitchen Grain free Chicken recipe measured up

  • White teeth, free of tartar and dental disease
    • Well, I won't let mom look and she said my breath stinks today. But I also just licked the floor so. . . overall she THINKS there is a slight improvement. We'll see at the next DOGTOR visit.
  • Shiny, smooth, oil-free coats
    • Absolutely true. My coat is always nice, but lately it has been NICER. It is shiny but not at all oily feeling even though I have not had a bath in a couple of weeks,
  • Flake-free and itch-free skin
    • No itches here and this is usually my ITCHY TIME of the year.
  • Chronic allergies and infections subside and/or disappear
    • My tummy skin has been pinker than before. When I wander in grass I sometimes develop the famous pug black tummy. Not lately. And my eye goop has gone down some.
  • Odorless breath and body
    • According to Aunt B, I stink! But Mommy says I just smell like a dog and not all perfumey fuzz like Molly. So no, not oderless at all and this is a claim I question anyhow. Every animal has a scent.
  • Improved energy and vitality
    • I was playing with a puppy over the weekend. Outright playing. I just felt like it. And it felt good. I had lots of energy to last and plenty of pep to keep up with the young'un.
  • Decreased visits to the vet
    • I don't want to test this one. I generally only go for checkup BUT a couple of times this year I had booboos (my eye, for example) so I had to go in to the clinic. I love my DOGTOR but I don't want to see him for a while.
  • Major changes in poop!
    • I am pretty much a poop master. Mommy said my poops stayed about the same but then I have been using this food as a topper so there wouldn't be any BIG changes. The article I got this benefit from did not specify what changes it means; but I heard less poop means the food is assimilated more.
  • Mental stimulation from working at mealtimes
    • I do not consider eating WORK. It is something I do out of pure love. But The Honest Kitchen certainly held up its end of the bargain here because I purely LOVED eating it.
  • Exercise
    • The food doesn't do this silly!!!! This happens in conjunction with your HUMOM or HUDAD. And although we could get MORE exercise, we do get some and that is important whether you are on a RAW diet or a more mainstream kibble-based diet.
So on THIS, the 30th day of my Chewy.com THIRTY DAY CHALLENGE, I have to say

I WON!!!!

And I think anyone who tried The Honest Kitchen Grain free Chicken recipe, even as just a topper will WIN the wellness race as well. It is a good food created with the best of intentions for a happier and healthier pet.

We give this food PAWS DOWN

THE CASA DE NOODLES GOLD SEAL OF APPROVAL
Sorry I don't have the seal to put here. The main computer is still out for repair

Thank you Chewy.com for allowing us this fantastic opportunity. We loved every morsel . . . I mean every second of the CHALLENGE.

REASONS TO FEED YOUR DOG A RAW DIET
  1. Cooking breaks down nutrients
  2. Carbohydrates are not easily assimilated into the canine body
  3. The dog digestive system is made to break down raw foods
  4. Processed foods are bad for any animal

Who? What? Where in the World Has Noodles Been?

I apologize for being absent all week from Blogger. It was so unexpected and crazy. Basically, Mommy caught the cold of the century and really didn't feel like writing. But she had some quick posts at the ready so she could make something happen.

But then MISCHIEF happened. Mommy turned on the BIG COMPUTER where all of our info RESIDES and it took a long long time to open. That peeved her but sometimes when there is an update it takes a while.

Then she opened her profile and received a message that she was on a temporary ID which would erase when she exited. AND THEN she noticed all of her files were GONE! Kaput! NADA! What to do???

She pouted for like a MILLISECOND and then took it to the COMPUTER DOC. She had to find one though because when she went to the guy she has hired in the past, his shop was closed and cleaned out. Uh-oh! She lucked out and found one near Auntie N which is pretty close to here. She got a good vibe from him and feels pretty confident that he can take care of the problem. If not then Mommy may have a mini-nervous breakdown. She had not backed up the files in too many months. Her BAD. Lesson learned. . . maybe.

Anyhow, that is a long-winded way of saying we will be outta commission for a small while but hope to be back IN THE GROOVE very soon.

We're on borrowed computer time in the meantime,

That's What FURiends Are For

This is me and Princess Leah. She is one of my bestest FURiends even though we have not met IN THE FURS. But I know we'd get along well because our Humans do.

I am sending ALL MY LOVE to Leah and her pawrents because they are going through some sad times. And since I am not there, I have to build up a lot of L-O-V-E to make sure it lasts clear across the country and over an OCEAN.

So that's what's on my mind today - Leah, her Mum, and her Dad. I love you all and and teleporting hugs to you.

While We Are on The Subject of PINK - a #ChewyInfluencer Review

Opportunities for trying new stuff comes our way ALL THE TIME. Part of this is Mommy #2's persistence, and part of this is the BLOG. We have some visibility and we are. . . how to say this without sounding too SMUG . . . ADORABLE!

So WE were approached by #ChewyInfluencers about an opportunity to try some of the new PET APPAREL by Frisco. Why not, we thought. Afterall, the SUMMER DRESS was a success. This time we decided to try a HOODIE. It was the most logical since despite the cooling down of our weather, it does not get so cool here that we need heavy JACKETS. Plus, we already have more sweaters than we can wear AND some jammies that we only wear at Christmas. For these reasons, we decided on the FRISCO French Terry Heather Lightweight Hoodie in PINK.

I wanted it SOOOOOOO BAD. But Mommy looked at the sizing and took our measurements and . . . there was no size that was a good fit for a PUG princess. Here is the Size Chart

As you can see in the last column, there is no PUG! Why such a blatant discrimination? Well, let's break this down -
  • MY length is 14" and that is X-Small
  • MY neck is 18" and that is X-Large
  • My chest is 20" and that is a MEDIUM
So needless to say, Molly got the FRISCO French Terry Heather lightweight Hoodie in Pink because as a Maltese Mix, she is a SMALL. Her Body length is a problem though as she is 16" long. That is between a MEDIUM and a LARGE and we knew neither would fit. Well, in hindsight, maybe the MEDIUM would have been better if only for coverage.

We waited an excruciating WEEK for the order to be delivered. I apologize to Ms Kristin and Ms Natalie of Chewy.com because I think I was becoming a PEST asking about it every couple of days. They were so good to me, though. Never once did they respond with SARCASM. I love them. They embody Chewy.com service - which we ALL know is THROUGH-THE-ROOF fantastic. In ONE WEEK exactly the box arrived. Needless to say, we LEAPT with excitement when we heard the GOODY MOBILE drive away leaving a CHEWY.COM box behind.

This is the hoodie PRE-TRY-ON. Isn't it beautiful? It is just as described - PINK, lightweight and soft. The construction is superb, not a thread broken or showing. Really nice. Mommy is a sewer so she checks all that stuff out. The really nice feature on this hoodie is the Velcro at the neck. Even though it is made to fit a certain neck size, it gives one a little extra room to work with when putting it on. And Molly really does not like her eyes covered under any circumstances so the Velcro helped speed up the PUTTING-ON process.

As you can tell from the photo, the HOODIE fits Molly to a tee. It is comfortable around her chest and neck. The hood, which she hates having on, lends a nice touch of style. She can go all Mark Zuckerberg (early days) in it by adding some cargo shorts and a tee shirt. Or she can just fulfil her Cali-gurl dream and cart it along to the beach for when the late afternoon fog rolls in. It is THAT versatile.

It was a coolish morning when the HOODIE arrived so Molly ended up wearing the HOODIE all morning until it warmed up. It looked very good on her and did not shift or ride up. It is too short - it hits her mid-back rather than top of her tail-end - but that is a pretty minor thing. She has roomier clothing that gets all twisted around on her because she id so skinny. With the weather getting breezy and cool, she will get a lot of wear out of this HOODIE. And it being pink makes it the PAWfect accessory for OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH.

We give this item the

Because other than it not being PUGable and a little short on length for the MIX to Molly's MALTESE, it is a top-notch clothing item that will wear well and look good for a long time.

**We received from Chewy.com free of charge ONE (1) Pink French Terry Heather Hoodie to try on, wear and write a review about our experience. We were in no way paid for our review and all opinions belong to Noodles the Pug only.

Noodles on Mommy #1's Birthday and College Life

Last weekend was Mommy #1's BIRTHDAY! I find that so exciting! Of course we HAD to celebrate even though she is already overwhelmed with school work. Everypuggy deserves a break now and then.
So Mommy #2 and I went to the college campus to visit her and take her to breakfast. Here is the FUN part - I got to go to the restaurant TOO! We went to the Lazy Dog Restaurant in Cupertino,CA. It is not too far from campus and from our house. And DOGS are allowed there. I have been to Lazy Dog a number of times and I find it most agreeable.

It was a beautiful NorCal Fall morning, sunny with puffy clouds dotting the mountains surrounding the valley. And there was a nice cool breeze keeping the air fresh and clean. We sat on the patio which was perfect. At first I was the only PUP there. Before long there were plenty of dogs to share the patio. There was another small white dog, possibly a Maltese, a HUGE brown dog with spots, a smaller shorthaired long snouted pup . . . one table had a variety pack of 3 dogs. . . it was plenty activity. I was a good girl. I stayed close to the table (okay. . . I WAS on a LEASH, afterall) and did not bark or otherwise vocalize.

Here is a VIDEO of me being good

Afterward we drove by the Apple HQ - or the Space Ship, as it is called. We did not get out of the car but I GOOGLED some pictures for your ENTERTAINMENT.

A look from above. We drove by it from below so we did not
get this view

Hi from Apple, Inc HQ

Mommy #2 left me and Mommy #1 at the Villas where Mommy #1 lives. SURPRISE! I was spending the night! Oh what fun I had. We wandered around campus visiting FRIENDS and seeing all of my favorite places like this fountain at the entrance. It was so fun.

Later on, Mommy and her roommate and I sat on the couch and watched MOVIES. It was a lot of fun. I will never forget celebrating Mommy's birthday like that and spending so much time with her.

Pinking it UP for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month

We at A Bowl of Noodles are PINKING it up ALL month long in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. We won't be talking about it all month, but from time to time we will. I, pugsonally, feel it is extremely important that we talk about Breast Cancer and that we support research into better treatments - and ultimately a CURE.

That is why WE are all about ALL THINGS PINK.
It is an important topic which needs to always be in the FOREFRONT of the news. It isn't gone. It isn't going away. . . YET.  Noodles the Pug

I really really really like PINK. It makes me feel ALL GIRLY. And that is why I am promoting October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Granted, it isn't just a girl issue - but it mostly is. And we girls HAVE to stick together and promote the health of Our Girls. You know, GIRLS just wanna have fun, and be healthy, and LIVE. So show your support by PINKING it up this month.
Molly the Maltese Mix

Well, I am a little confused. I thought this was a POST about P!NK the performer and that SHE was going to show up here. So, well. . . I am a little upset it ISN'T about her, but in a way IT IS! P!NK is about empowering women and Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about GIRL POWER. Keep the dialogue open. Keep the money going to research. Keep the survival rate marching upward. It benefits us all. Sunshine the Cat

All month we will be wearing as much PINK as possible from the Blog Masthead to what we wear, we will be pinking our way through October. Show me your PINK!
