Playing the Game

Okay, okay. I get it. I am almost 3 years old so I totally KNOW the score. Do a TRICK and get a TREAT.
I have even perfected a few moves, like the one above - the HIGH FIVE. I can do that one in my SLEEP! In fact, I think I HAVE done it in my sleep a time or two just to score the inevitable TREAT.

Another trick I have mastered is the SHAKE. It looks just like the HIGH FIVE but it isn't at all. If I had a picture of it, you would see that my HUMAN'S hand is in a totally DIFFERENT position. This is what makes it a SHAKE.

I am an extremely accomplished KNUCKLE PUNCH pug, too. Okay, I know what you are gonna say (or would if I had a PICTURE of that one, too) it looks just like the HIGH FIVE and the SHAKE; but again, look at the HUMAN'S hand for a clue. It is so cool and I get LOTS of oohs and aahs when I do it.

I also do the LIE DOWN and PLAY DEAD. They also look like the same trick BUT THEY TOTALLY ARE NOT because I don't THINK they are. After all . . . one is LIE DOWN and the other is, ummm, PLAY DEAD.

In any case, performing these tricks are a guarantee of TREAT every time - so I do them . . . OVER and OVER and OVER again.

It is the PUG way.

I'm not sure what the humans' control issue is on the tricks, but I'm totally willing to play along when treats are involved. Try one called SPIN -- it's just like chasing your tail, except you do it when the human says so. How easy!!

You're so smart Noodles! I can shake a paw and high-five, but I've never learned the fist bump. I can lay down, but have no clue what play dead is. I haven't fully mastered the Jimmy, but I've been working on it. Anything for a treat!

Tubby knows a few tricks and cycles through them for treats, Ping finds tricks demeaning and simply refuses to do anything more then sit. I think your tricks look great Noodles

If you ask us, the Humans are the ones getting fooled. It's the same command for 3 different actions, and we still get 3 treats. Works for us! Go Noodles!

Lots of licks,

You do what you gotta do...right? That is a pretty good trick. I will add that to my arsenal of skills. You can never get too many treats!!

Good job Noodles! You is very skilled at tricking the humans into giving you treats. Here is my one and only trick: If I is in the backyard and no paying attention to my name being called repeatedly, Mama then says, "Reuben, wanna treat? wanna treat?" Then I come running inside and I get a treat! Humans is very strange.

That's a sweet hi-five, Noodles! I've got "shake" down, but I've never tried a fist bump. I'll try any new trick if it will give me an opportunity to obtain more treats.

Maybe you can do an instructional post on mastering the fist bump.

-Love,
Sid.

Wow Noodles you know so many tricks! Way more than Sunny's sit that she does right maybe 75% of the time. And you look super cute in the high five photo!
