My Bay Area Mourns

I want to pay tribute today to ROBIN WILLIAMS - actor extraordinaire, elite comedian, and PAWSOME PUG daddy.

Hard to tell who is Robin and who is Leonard

We at Casa de Noodles are so saddened by his death yesterday at age 63. He was too bright a star - a SUPER NOVA if you will - to lose so suddenly. Our world is certainly dimmer without him.

Robin Williams was a fixture in the SF Bay Area. He lived here (Tiburon and San Francisco), worked here (Mrs. Doubtfire was filmed in SF), and played here (ask SJ Sharkie!). On the news today, they interviewed people from the area who knew or met him. They said he was always pleasant and down to earth.

I could see that. He had the kind of face you gravitate to. . . it oozed warmth and kindness. I loves loves loves his movies especially "Pan" and "Mrs Doubtfire" - although his performance list goes on and on and includes drama as well as comedy. He voiced commercials (Apple) and animation movies (Aladdin). . . sang. . . did stand up. . . acted on TV (yes Mork and Mindy but I liked last year's offering "The Crazy Ones" which was so underrated). A wealth of work.

But I did not know he had a pug until yesterday. I think that is sad that I did not know that because he was so familiar to ME. But it makes sense. He was definitely the kind of person who would be owned by a pug.

SO. . . as I wipe a tear from my glorious liquidy orbs . . . I want to THANK ROBIN WILLIAMS for being such a talented, wonderful person who I WISH had seen the value of his LIFE as we all do.

Well said Noodles, well said. I am not sure why our brightest stars, that keep our eyes looking towards the heavens often leave us just when we here on earth need their light the most. S.a.d.

Here on this hill we use the line from Mrs. D..

Drive By FRUITING... when we go up and down our road... dropping off garden Goodies to the folks who do not have gardens.

He WILL be Missed.

Sarge's Mom here...

I so totally agree. He was my favorite celebrity ever. Definitely the funniest person on the planet. I can quote tons of lines from his standup to his movies and I adored him. I've been thinking of doing a post too. It's such a shame that he gave us such joy and didn't feel that back from the world. I don't usually get too interested in Hollywood happenings, but this is different. I remember Johnny Carson walking off his own stage wiping tears from the laughter as RW took over the Tonight Show...I'm sure the censors were going berzerk! He was unstoppable when interviewed. Thanks for this post.

I feel you, it really caught me out of nowhere yesterday and even made my heart hurt a little. Since he can no longer be here, I'm wishing that he found the peace that he was searching for.<3

P.S: I too didn't know that he had a little pug companion!

I didn't know he had a pug either! That definitely shows a lot about him. He was such a bright star. It's a shame he was sick and wasn't able to feel how loved he was!

He will certainly be missed. He lost his battle with his disease. I hope he is at peace now.

Very sad, indeed. And while he lived there, he was born here - Chicago. I hope where he is now he's found the peace that alluded him.
