So HOT The SKY Was On FIRE!

The original picture lacks the intensity of the
real sunset. This was taken at 8:20pm.
 IPhone Photo

Mommy took this photo of the sunset the other night - the night it was still over 100 degrees at 6pm. She said this photo does not do it justice because the colors should be MORE intense. So I am gonna try and FIX that using my handy dandy photo editing SOFTWARE.

This is adding 11200 k to the color. It is closer
to real life because the underside of the cloud cluster
is richer, brighter

I struggled a bit to get the right color concentration to imitate the intense colors in the sunsetty sky. My software is just not precise enough. But I did manage to get one corrected photo that captured the FEEL of that 90 PLUS degree sunset.

Are your cheeks burning? Can you just feel
the heat coming at you?

This photo brings out major FEELS for me - and makes me want to

The BIG Tease!

We had THE BEST weather over the weekend. It was sunny and it was warm. I spent some time in the great OUTDOORS snoopervising my AUNT T and her gardening. After all of the rain we have had, the hills around the valley have a glowing greenness about them. And here and there are splashes of color from the emerging wildflowers. It WAS glorious.

I was thinking that YAY! Winter is really almost gone and we are on to the glorious SPRING weather and then Summer! I love those seasons the best. And afterall, Wednesday, March 20, IS the first day of SPRING.

But alas, it was not to be. Today the clouds are rolling in and it is supposed to rain for the next week. Some rain is predicted for each day.

Seven straight days.

Sigh.

Mother Nature - You are such a TEASE!

Wordful Wednesday

I could be WORDLESS because this picture is filled with words - don't you think? But I can't. I have something to say and I gotta USE MY WORDS. . .

Dear Mother Nature,
This is Noodles the Pug. It is Spring. It is ALMOST SUMMER. And do you see what is going on down here? It is cold. It is rainy. This is weather I expect in late March or April - which, I might add were warmer than now - but NOT in late MAY. We had a week or two of high temps and then they came crashing down. And that is where we are at.
Please correct the situation soon.
Love Noodles

Dear Noodles,
I am trying my best. But with  human expansion of greenhouse gases, many of the gases that control weather, are trapping in heat that would normally escape the atmosphere. In a way, you could say I am having HOT FLASHES. That is what happened at the end of April and beginning of May when you had all of that hot weather. And all that heat makes the polar ice melt which is causing something akin to sweating in the form of very wet weather - like what your lovely state California experienced this past winter. It is a problem humans need to address now - before it is too late.
Love Mother Nature

I'm a little PUG. What can I do?
Let's get humans to open this dialogue
and make something happen.

Here's something to think about. . .
Even if you don't like Al Gore you should give him a listen - I did.

AND NOW FOR A LITTLE AFFIRMATION

This is Really Really Terrible

This was our air quality on Monday. It was bad but it wasn't TERRIBLE. Mommy said we seldom she this much pollution but there is a BIG fire to the south and some pretty bad structure fires up the PENINSULA. Because we are in a valley all the smoke travels to US.

Well, look at the air quality today. It is A LOT WORSE! It is so bad you can barely see the hills and we were moving TOWARD them. Again the really terrible fire burning south of us in Big Sur is contributing to the bad air. But it is more than just that fire causing our valley to look more like BEIJING than SAN JOSE. . .  an inversion layer.

Yes today was a HOT HOT HOT day with temperatures over 90 degrees. And making it seem even HOTTER was the humidity. It was way over 68% today and that made the air feel oppressive. We generally so not have such HOT, HUMID and STAGNANT air.

I am hoping for a change in at least the inversion layer. I can handle hot weather if it is dry and maybe a bit breezy. The air movement always makes it seem better. I hope and pray that the wildfires are under control soon, too. Granted, MY AIR would be more breathable if there was less smoke. But I am also dismayed by the loss of property and life the fires are causing. Some very wonderful regional parks are being burned. This is the area where you can go wildflower hunting in the Spring. Well you can go a lot of places but this area has some of the most unique species.

Whackadoodle Weather

Dear Mr. or Ms. Weatherperson,
What is up with this weather? We had SUMMER in Winter and now we are having WINTER in Spring. Whatever are you planning for Summer and FALL?

I don't mean to complain or anything. I am very very very grateful for the rain we have been having of late. It makes the flowers happy and makes the air smell so clean. And Mommy's car got washed by the rain which it desperately needed.

But I had to pull out my winter coat yesterday and this is MAY. . .MID-May! I should be stylin' the flip-flops and sitting on the patio sipping margaritas. Instead, I am curled up in my bed, Hammish by my side of course, trying to keep warm. WHY? Because it is SPRING and the heater has left on vacation until next WINTER - which is silly because we never even used the heater this last Winter.

I think you get my drift here? This is crazy-makes-no-sense weather and I want it to end. I want to return to normalcy when Summer meant toasty temps and Fall meant blustery days. I need to be able to plan my wardrobe and activities without always checking on the latest BEST GUESS of what the weather MIGHT be.

I still respect you (for now) and deep down I know you will try to do the right thing.
Your FURiend,
Noodles

Warm Wishes

I am wishing for some warmer weather. Not too much. . . but some as it has been toooooooo cold lately. I went outside to do my BIDNESS this am and the grass was CRUNCHY! It was crunchy yesterday and the day before and the day before. This is not right. We live in an area where the mean temperature is 70 degrees (Fahrenheit) year round! That means WINTER does not get to freezing. Winter does not get to 40 that much. Heck!!!! Winter should hoover in the 50s if you ask me.

I don't think it would be so bad except my mommys were too busy all weekend to spend much time cuddling and so I felt colder than I otherwise would have.

Lessee. . . Oh yeah, my Aunt B (not to be confused with AWESOME Auntie B . . . although Aunt B is awesome in her way, too) took all of MY Christmas cards into her work last week. I got a lot, you see. . . almost double what any ONE person in the rest of the household received . . . and they were almost all of adorable PUGS. A couple were pug mixes and some other FURiends. But all were ADORABLE. So Aunt B took the pile to work so everyone she works with could see them. They LOVED them!!! Some got good gut-giggles from them. You know how funny PUGS can be sometimes. Most thought they were adorable to the NTH degree.

So thanks eFURRYone who sent me WARM WISHES in a Christmas card. They made my day AT THE TIME and here we are, 3 weeks later, and they are still making people happy.
