Tri-Dyed

I know what we will be doing on Saturday. That's right! We will be "helping" our humans prepare for HAPPY EASTER. That means we will be dyeing Easter Eggs and then hiding them. And we will scatter Jelly Beans as well. I cannot wait. I have asked the Easter Bunny for a basket of TREATS that I do NOT have to share with Molly. She can do her own asking if she wants some.

I remember last Easter. It was just me and my Mommys because everyPUGGY else was away on a cruise AND Molly was not born yet.

Okay, I lied a little. My sisteroid Sunshine the Cat was there as were the messy and loud parakeets, Jade and Pearl. But I really am not focused on them, am I. It was all about ME. Anyhoo. . .

I got the nicest basket from the Easter Bunny! It had Pugs in the Kitchen treats and a new collar. There were also a couple of new toys - a chicky and a stuffless bunny. I had the best time dismantling that wonderful basket, too.

So to all my FURiends, I want to wish you a HAPPY SPRING vacation and Happy whatever you celebrate be it Easter, Passover, Holi, etc.

And Be sure to STOP in on BUNKS BLOG and play his FANTASTIC Easter Egg hunt. Tomorrow is the last day to play!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Flowers and Fun are what Spring is made of.

Gone - One Blue Frisbee

This is how I imagine myself chasing after a FRISBEE thrown by one of my Mommys. Look how jubilant I seem, how swift and in control. . . I am bound to catch that FRISBEE. . . .

Reality check. The darn thing just hits me in the nose - or the butt - or the noggin. I cannot cannot CANNOT catch it no matter how hard I try. So I am moving on to more PUG friendly activities like

CHANNEL SURFING - I am quite accomplished at being a couch potato

BED MUSSING - Blankets and pillows are putty in my hands

COUCH REARRANGING - Out pops ONE, TWO, THREE couch pillows

POST-BATH ZOOMIES - In the bath I am mild mannered and cooperative. Out of the bath ZOOOMM!

I have donated my BLUE FRISBEE to somepuggy I know will appreciate it - MAX, Auntie B's Son's Girlfriend's not-even-a-year-old GSD. He not only MASTERED the art of FRISBEE catching, but he has also mastered mangling them. I know it has gone to a good home - however temporary.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Re-purposing something you love means you give it more life.

PeeEss: I WON!!!!! I won a prize by finding an EASTER EGG!!!   Bunk at BUNKS BLOG is having an Easter Egg Hunt! Check it out. Loads of fun and lots of really neat prizes!!!!! THANKS BUNK!

Point of View

I think this picture of Sunshine the Cat and Molly is hilarious. Here's why

  1. They are sitting together on the chair. As if!
  2. Molly's HEAD looks gigantic
  3. Molly looks bigger than Sunshine and she is NOT
  4. What is Sunshine thinking? Her expression is multi-faceted
Most of all I wonder - why am I NOT in the picture?

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Give Yourself the Gift of Being Joyfully You! I totally stole this from somewhere else BUT I like it.

Belly Belly Good

I am a HUGE fan of belly rubs. I never OVERTLY seek them out - but I also never deny one that is offered. I have often pondered what makes a belly rub superior to -say - a chin chuckle (which I also dearly love) or a back scratch?
I don't know. . . don't have the answer to that question. It just stands as a universal truth - at least in the NOODLES UNIVERSE - that a belly rub stands supreme.
What do you think? Do you love belly rubs the most?
Or is there another endearing form of petting that you love more?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A belly rub makes everything okay.

Sunny Spot Removal

This feels sooooooooooo GOOD!

A Sunny Spot Beckons Me
I think I will go over and See

I walk to where the Sun Spot lies
Anxious for that Warm surprise

I finally reach that sacred Spot
The Sun is GONE but the floor is hot

I take a step in reverse
The Sun Spot from the dark floor Bursts

I again take a forward Hop
The dark returns, the Sun Spot not

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Sometimes finding a little sunshine can change your whole day.

Worthy of Discussion

The THREE of us, Me (Noodles), Sunshine the Cat and Molly, were sitting around the other day when the humans were all gone. We needed a time to discuss this matter without the constant interruptions from our well-meaning humans. What could be so important to need dedicated discussion time? Well, simply put. . .  MEALTIME.

Yes, MEALTIME. We do have them but they are so. . . um. . . FAR APART!!! I mean, I eat breakfast at 5am and I do not get dinner until 6PM!!! Sunshine eats at 5 am AND 5 pm and Molly eats at 6 am and 6 pm. None of us think this schedule is fair.

What happened to LUNCH? I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, that our humans all pack LUNCHES for the day.

So we finally had some time alone to discuss what course of action we should take to get LUNCH added into our daily meals. I suggested we stage a WHINE-A-THON to make them so miserable that they would give in to our demands. But that STUCK-UP Sunshine the Cat said she would in no way WHINE like a dog. That kind of behavior is beneath FELINES.

She suggested ORGANIZED DESTRUCTION of the human space - knock knick-knacks off the shelves, someone toss pillows off the couch, and so on. It sound like a GUARANTEED time-out to me but Sunshine guarantees it will work.

Molly just wiggled non-stop and looked at us with that silly "HUH?" expression on her face. Lotta help she is. Alas, we came to no solution to our problem because before we knew it the whole FAMILY was home trying to cuddle and pet us. So we adjourned the meeting until another time.

BUT I AM NOT giving up! I want LUNCH and I want it NOW! I am starting a REVOLUTION! Who's with me?

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Food is yummy for the tummy and pleasing to the soul

Payton Paints The Sky

Thinking of you, Payton.

The rains finally started to disappear in the afternoon yesterday. Along with the disappearing clouds came the most beautiful RAINBOW ever. I knew in my heart of hearts that it was my FURiend Payton saying Hi from Over the Rainbow Bridge.

So I sat for a while admiring Payton's handiwork and thinking about all the fun times we shared in Blogville. It brought a smile to my face. I have a very special PINK gorilla that Payton's mommy and daddy sent to me after she was gone. I love that toy so much and play with it a little every day in Payton's memory. It comforts me when I am in my crate alone (like when the family was gone to work or school and BEFORE MOLLY).

Today is Payton's birthday and she would have been 10 years old. I dedicate today to my FURiend so she knows she is always in my thoughts and heart.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Payton, the little PUG who whipped PDE and brought it to its knees!

Spring is Dripping All Over My Flat Face

I walked out this morning as I usually do
And what greeted me?
RAIN!
RAIN!
RAIN!
Did someone NOT get the memo that
THIS IS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING?

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Spring is great because of all the wonderful smells that emerge when the flowers awaken!

It's All Fun and Games, After All

My Mommys LOVE games. They play word games like Scrabble, Bananagrams, and crossword puzzles. Those don't thrill me too much. My FAVORITE game is Catch the Treat. Anything with a TREAT is interesting to me.

I don't do ball or frisbee CATCH, though. Too tough on my flat face! I mean, a TREAT hitting my snoutless face is ONE THING, a hard plastic object is something else again.

Then there is hockey - I loves loves loves HOCKEY and especially the SJ SHARKS (unfortunately they are having a dismal HALF-SEASON). I run at the tv barking when they score! I whine when the OTHER team scores.

And I cannot forget BASEBALL and FOOTBALL.

And finally, there are contests. I loves loves loves playing the different contests I find around BLOGVILLE. Sometimes I win, more often than not I don't. In any case, I loveslovesloves the challenges and the fun. Some bloggers are just so clever when it comes to games!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: When it comes to games, you have to play to win. . . or to have fun!

If you haven't already, HOP over to Bunk's Blog and check out his Easter Egg hunt! You can enter everyday and EVERYDAY there is something new. Fun, I tell ya!

It's In the Mail

The mailwoman came by on Friday. I barked a little at her like I usually do - just a simple HELLO and you're doing a GREAT job, you know.
She left a lot of mail for the humans in the mailbox, like usual.
BUT NOT LIKE USUAL EXCEPT AT CHRISTMAS TIME
She left a box for me!!!

Corbin, I APOLOGIZE for my Mommy's terrible picture taking!!!!

It was my PRIZE from Corbin at Oh! Corbin!!! Corbin and his foster sister Sophie (she has since found her forever home, Yay!) had a contest and the prize was a couple of coupons for FROSTY PAWS and a toy from FP! Well, I definitely wanted to win THAT and so I entered. Surprise, Surprise!!! I was one of the winners!!!  It was so fun to open the box and see the prizes BEST OF ALL was the picture of HANDSOME Corbin and CUTE Sophie. I will cherish that photo always.

I will let you in on a little secret: My mommy pins pictures of my Blogville FURiends on my pen so I can see them all day.

If you haven't had FROSTY PAWS then I wholeheartedly recommend that you do. I am looking forward to trying the PEANUT BUTTER one (I have tried the Vanilla - YUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMY!!!).

Thanks you Corbin and Sophie!!!

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Winning Stuff! There is nothing better than winning stuff!!! Well, maybe playing the game to win is super fun. . . . but winning is fun. . .

Call O' The Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day EVERYPUGGY!!!

I've been a little bit GREEN all day, if truth be told. I have my Shamrock necklace so I don't get pinched; and see my Pot O' Gold??? Yes, I am a lucky Leprechaun  Pug, that's for sure.

Mommy made sure I had lots of Green and Orange with my morning  meal (lettuce and carrots), too.

Tonight, to carry forward the GREEN theme, we are having HOMEMADE

Sushi
Seaweed's green too, ya know

However you are celebrating, I hope you have had the best ever St. Patrick's Day.

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Pick a DAY and celebrate something. Just being in a FAMILY is celebration-worthy!

Talking Treatables and Stuff

This is a post about FOOD. Not just food. MY food in particular. I like my food and I gladly eat it at regular intervals. What I REALLY want, though, is to have MY FOOD available 24/7. I understand that it is not possible for the following reasons

See this waist? I wanna KEEP it this way

  1. I get fat and I get NO TREATS
  2. I can't fit through the outside door and I get NO TREATS
  3. I can't wear my SJ SHARKS t shirt and I get NO TREATS
  4. My collar has to expand another notch and I GET NO TREATS
  5. I look like a bread box when viewed from above and I GET NO TREATS

Obviously TREATS are important to me.

My favorite treats are the Nutro fruity ones. I especially like the berry on as it smells intoxicating and taste phenomenal as well. I also have some organic Peanut Butter and Banana ones my Aunt B got me from Biscuits Give a Dog a Bone pet boutique in Japantown.

But did I mention baby CARROTS???? Those make my heart take wings and fly. I loves loves loves baby carrots. I can have almost as many baby CARROTS as I want because they do not make me fat. They do, however, make me poop a lot and that can be a problem. So I am limited to a few at breakfast OR DINNER.

Molly doesn't like her vegetable. She will kinda nibble a carrot PIECE or lettuce SHRED. But she never gets all that excited about them. She prefers the stinky sloppy BULLY STICK to all other treats.

Molly gnawing away

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Treats!! I like Treats! Gimme Treats!

M.I.A. Without Permission

They did it again!!! Mommy's left for work and school and FORGOT to PUBLISH my blog post for the day. This was AFTER Mommy #1 disappeared almost ALL DAY yesterday. She did NOT ask my opinion nor permission. I must have a little PUG to HUMAN talk with her tonight.

Mommy #1 apparently went off with some HUMAN friends. They went to a couple of restaurants and then shopping at someplace they do not allow dogs (LIKE TARGET which USED to allow me in the store). She had a lot of fun - although, as I have pointed out, WITHOUT ME!!! I think a HARRUUMMMMPPPHHH! is needed here.

Mommy #2 and I, on the other hand, spent the WHOLE DAY together doing something extremely fun. That, my dear FURiends, is a story for another day.

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Knowing someone cares is the best feeling in the world.

So BRIGHT I Need Shades

This is my new TOUGHHOUND All Sports Collar. It is BRIGHT pink and has my name on it. Mommys recently were looking at collars for me - distinct ones so they can pick me out in a crowd of PUGS. They checked them out at those BIG pet stores and even our favorite Dog Boutique - Biscuits Give a Dog a Bone in Japantown.  Nothing quite struck their fancy and they generally left disappointed. I do not wear a collar around the house, if I must be honest. But more and more my Mommys have been thinking they need something besides my METRO harness on me when I am in a PUG crowd. Unbelievable that they would EVER have trouble picking ME, a Pug Princess, out in a crowd.

But I digress.

They specifically wanted something that would either hold my tags securely (I have lost them once) or have my name on it. She decided to give TOUGHHOUND All Sports Collar a try. What they like most about the NEON PINK COLLAR -

  • Durable - it is made from polycoated nylon webbing which can withstand heat, cold and excessive rough-housing
  • Cleanable - dirt comes right off and stains and odors do not set in
  • SEEable- like anyone can miss this bright pink! TOUGHHOUND All Sports Collars come in EIGHT colors so you don't HAVE to settle for neon pink - unless you are a Pug Princess like me
  • Customizable - the attached nameplate can be engraved with FOUR lines of information like dog or PUG's name, address, phone number, microchip info, etc. Who will get lost? NOT THIS DOG!
  • Fashionable - nice looking with durable stainless steel accents (buckle, rivets, and nameplate)
My FURiend Pablo (he is a Havanese) checked out the collar for himself. He has a lot of trouble with rough edges and stabbing rivets. His Maman ran her hands all over looking for a sharp edge or pokey rivets. She found NONE! Her only hesitation is the buckle since Pablo's daycare does not allow collars with buckles, only quick release latches. She is nonetheless thinking of getting him an ESPRESSO colored collar (although Pablo confessed to me he would prefer a more colorful collar in Ocean BLUE or Yellow) for the time the family spends in the French Countryside.

This is a picture of me sporting my new TOUGHHOUND All Sports Collar at the HUGE Pug Meet last Saturday. You can tell by my expression that I like the look and feel of the collar. And see how it makes me stand out from the pack? No one would guess I was anyPUG other than NOODLES - Pug Princess extraordinaire.

If you are looking for a distinctive yet functional collar, I suggest you check TOUGHHOUND All Sports Collar out.

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: I love colorful accessories because they say I am all ME!

That's Some BIG Dogs!!!

Butcher Park was the site for Pug Saturday. It is a big suburban park that is nice and shaded. Plus, there was a BIG DOG side to the Dog Park. I did not go over to that side because, frankly, some big dogs make me testy. But Mommy #1 and Lil' One did go over there. . .

And this is what they found

Do you see that???? Those are NOT dogs! Those are horses in DOG DISGUISES!!!! OMP, I could not believe it had I not seen it with my own PUGGY eyes.

They stayed there for a while and then Lil' One started to get a little freaked out. I think you can understand why

Those dogs were nearly as BIG as she is and she is SEVEN YEARS OLD!!! She's an adult, for Pete's Sake (isn't she like 49 in DOG years???)!

So she stayed until they sniffed and then she appeared back at the Small Dog side of the Dog Park. I was kinda glad because she likes to run with me and throw me the ball. I don't do anything like FETCH but I humor her by looking EXCITED!

The Big Dog, or HORSE, side stayed busy the whole time we were at the Pug Meet. When we left, one of the big dogs left too but his Mommy made him stay behind a little so he wouldn't scare Molly. I was oblivious.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Big or small a good FURiend is a blessing.

I am also HOPPING along with the Thankful It's Thursday Blog Hop. Check it out for YOURSELF!

A WHOLE Lotta Pug LOVE Going On. . .

For the FIRST TIME ever I went to Pug Saturday right here in my home town. I didn't even know it existed until 6 months ago! So I told my Mommy that I wanted to go and see if I could find some of my FURiends. I didn't recognize anyPUGGY, as it turned out; but I had a whole lotta adventure!
(There are a lot of pictures here. To BIGGIFY just click on the image)

Look at all those PUGS! Insane, I tell you!

There were so many really friendly humans around as well - and some non-PUGS were there as well. We arrived just after it began and there were already a dozen PUGS in attendance. I watched as more and more arrived - usually by the TWOS or THREES! At its peak, there must have been about 30 or more pugs. I have to admit I lost track after about 20. There were 2 Bostons and 3 Frenchies to round out the SmushFaces at the park.

The group is building. See the Boston at the bottom of the picture. He was SUPER hyper and approaching everyPUGGY with such energy.

Look at his FACE here! Someone let him know that his exuberance was UNDER appreciated. He was a nice dog just VERY energetic!

Pugs as far as the eye could see - almost. This woman was surrounded by a dozen pugs at one time and she didn't even have any TREATS!

This guy looks like a WOOLLY Mammoth, huh? His owner said he was all PUG, though. I bet he never gets cold when the temps drop below 40 (I know, I know - that is not cold to you snowPUGS. I am a California girl, though)!

There were pugs of all ages, sizes and colors. There was even an apricot pug and a silver pug. Can you spot them in here? In addition to pure PUGS, there were some chugs and a puggle or two.

Do you recognize this guy? That's MAX from Minnie and Max Pugs of the head-tilting video! Max was pretty cool - I even let him follow me around a little. I do NOT usually allow that but I admit I was a little STARSTRUCK. He is very very handsome. He was there with his sister Minnie (she has a green harness) and his friend Loki (a handsome devil in a tan harness)

This was the funnEST sight! The owner and his pug have identical HOODIES! Can you see it?

I have no idea who this PUG is but she was friendly so I chatted with her for a while.

This was the STRANGEST pug at the meet. I can't put my paw on it, but there was something weird about this guy. I mean, very few PUGS walk on two feet like that and . . . his . . .head. . . was. . .so. . .LARGE!

Just a couple of older pugs that I met. They were sitting on a bench.

And this is where I sat MOST OF THE MEET! Right under my Mommy #2's chair. And yes, that white blur is Molly freaking out because a Frenchie approached her.

HAPPY THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Making new FURiends is fun.
