Ode to Maya Angelou

I loves loves loves Maya Angelou. Her passing has made me sad. So to cheer myself up, I am going to write a POEM in her honor.

ODE TO MAYA ANGELOU

Ms. Angelou you helped me soar
You made me think and think some more
Your words ignited a kind of fire
Spurred my action, stoked my ire

Along the way were the prettier ways
Kindness in action and what one says
Reminders of a gentler time
When our everyday had a rhythm and rhyme

I really thought you'd live forever
Sharing your thoughts, deep and clever
But now I see the path you laid
Is filled to the top with what you said

Maya Angelou was a guest speaker at Mills College when Mom was a student there in the late 70's. So inspirational, such a great impression. Never to be forgotten.
