Mommy Number One's Celebration

Happy Birthday Mommy #1

So Mommy's birthday came around on Saturday. This was VERY lucky because everypuggy was home. Eventually. Saturday is actually a very busy day with track meets, ballet rehearsals, and general goof-offery. This day was no exception EXCEPT it was Mommy's birthday. I got up extra special EARLY  to greet Mommy. She was awake already I THINK because she was excited - SHE THINKS it is because she slept 15 hours and enough is enough even when you are a teen.
We snuggled and played a little. I gave her lots of stinky kisses and she petted my soft shiny fur. It was the best of the best.
Then she had to head off for a BREAKFAST date with her Mommy and a couple of FRIENDS but not the FUR kind. They were gone like FOREVER. I waited and waited. In the meantime, I got lots of treats from the other family members (in their case TREATS translates into dropped morsels while they cook breakfast) and some special hugs from the Lil' One. Next thing I knew - they were gone too and it was just me and Sunshine left to clean house and decorate. I won't go into Sunshine's method of decorating (HINT: it looks like a tootsie roll BUT IT'S NOT!!!) but I think I did a great job of fluffing and REARRANGING pillows in the den.
Dinner was SUSHI the NON FISH kind and miso soup. It was YUMMY!!! Yes, I did get some Kappa Maki without wasabi. I am still smacking my lips in memory. After dinner, we brought out the HOMEMADE apricot sorbet (I helped pick out the best apricots myself) and a small small small cakelet ( they only wanted something fun to put the candle on since we are all on D-I-E-T-S except for Mommy and Lil' One and they do not like cake). I sang the HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU song at the top of my lungs because I love my Mommy #1 THAT much.
After all of THAT excitement, Mommy opened all of her gifts and giggled with delight at all the good stuffs she got. She was happy which made me even HAPPIER. Finally, we retired to the couch I FLUFFED and watched some movie until it was night-night time.
Sigh...................... it was an awfully nice Birthday.

Glad your mommy had a great time on her birthday. Doing the simple stuff and celebrating simply is a good way of spending time with family on occasions like this. Wish your mommy all the best in life.

Hi Noodles! Tell your Mommy #1 Happy Birthday from me! Sounds like you had a fantastic day. I bet everyone was happy that you didn't "decorate" using Sunshine's methods. BOL!
