Number One in the West

Friday was a big big BIG day for me. I went to the BASEBALL game with my Mommys and about 799 OTHER dogs. Really, I am NOT kidding. It was the NINTH Annual Bark at the Park hosted by the Oakland Athletics major league baseball team. They are NUMBER ONE in the West, you know.

Kinda looks like "Angels in the Outfield" huh?

My Mommys stayed home from work that day so we could get to the ball park really early. We took public transportation (BART) to the park and I had to be in a carrier. It was not too bad and was actually quite roomy. The worst was when Mommy picked me up and I felt the ground under my feet give way. I got used to it, though. We got to the park and Mommys let me out of the carrier - AWWWW! The smell of a ballpark cannot be beat, I tell you. We trotted (okay, I trotted and they walked) down to the line which was so so long. We met up with our FURiends Phoebe and Zoey, Honor, and Draego. I loves loves loves them.

Your eyes DO NOT DECEIVE you - she is green

We waited a zillion minutes in this long line for our shot records to be checked and our tickets scanned. Then we walked up a BAZILLION stairs to the goodie bag area. We walked around that area gathering up GOODIES for a while and then we GOT BACK IN LINE to parade the field. We walked down the BAZILLION stairs and then down a million more to the field. We walked the LEFT FIELD area in front of a sold out crowd. It was cool and I felt like a superstar. Then we walked out of the field and up a Zillion stairs, down another bazillion stairs and then UP ANOTHER BAZILLION stairs to the seating area (bleachers). There we walked down another million stairs to our perfect seats. I was DOG TIRED by that time, I tell you. I had to ask for assistance up that last BAZILLION stairs because I was just gassed by then.

It was so much fun nonetheless. I had my own seat between my Mommys. Mommy put my carrier there so the seat would stay down for me. It was the best seat in the house.

The Athletics were LOSING when we had to leave to game (we wanted to beat the after-game crowd on BART). While we were standing on the platform, though, we heard a HUGE ROAR from O.Co and guess what? The Athletics WON!!!!

Before you know it, it was time to say Goodbye to our FURiends.

Zoey and Phoebe are ready for Nite-Nite

I cannot wait until next year and Bark at the Park. Thank you Honor's mommy for getting tickets for us and arranging the fun.

How awesome is that? We never get to go to sports stuff because that is very low on mom's priority list. But the parade around the field part? Wasn't that fabulous to be treated like a rock star?

Hi Noodles! Sounds like you had a great time at the baseball game - well, aside from all the zillions of stairs. :)

I like your little A's-themed necklace and I can imagine how cute it must have been to have all the dogs parade around on the field. Did you get to have a beer and hot dog while there? He he.

-Love,
Sid.

Oh, what a grreat time! I went to a Bark in the Park a few years ago for my TEXAS RANGERS, and it was SO much fun. Parading on the field is pawesome -- even if they don't let you leave any peemail to say hi to the players.
