That's a LOT of Grass, Man!

Friday, June 28, was the mostest fun day EVER! I got to go to the Dog Days at the Park with my Mommys, My FURiends Zoey, Phoebe, and Honor AND their respective Mommys!!! How can a PUG be sooooo lucky?

Firstly, it took some preparations before we even got on the train. Mommy #2 wanted to be sure I let everyPUGGY know I was going to the ballgame. But it has been so hot, she didn't want to put a costume on me. So she came up with this simple collar in Athletics' colors AND she painted my toenails the same colors. You can kinda see them in the photo. The color wore off by the time we got to the ballpark, though.

We took BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to the ballgame. It was kinda fun and kinda scary all at the same time. BART is LOUD and screechy. Not at all what I expected. I was glad to have my Mommy's lap to snuggle in.

Once at the ballpark, we searched for and found our FURiends. They had a nice shade canopy up so we hung out there for a while. It was 91 degrees at 5pm and there was very little shade. Can you say HOT DOG!!! We still went over to the festival area and got our goodie bags and said HELLO to all the other dogs in the park.

You have to look at the FEET level to see the pooches
Finally, after former A's manager and founder of ARF animal rescue, Tony LaRussa gave a speech, we all lined up to parade around the field. Yes, the PLAYING FIELD!!!! Now I know what it is like to be a BALL PLAYER! It was totally cool even though it was really HOT. I admit I dragged my feet a little as we moved into the HOT sunlight. All I kept thinking was "LOOK AT ALL THAT GRASS!" I so wanted to walk on it. But walking on the playing field was TABOO.

We walked all around the warning track - 2/3 of which was in the sunlight. But we got to say hi to the team and the managers and the million other folk who work there.

We even saw my FURiend Tiffy's folks as we walked. They were in these really cool seats on the field. They waved at us and took our picture. I kinda had an inkling of what it would be like to be a real celebrity and get all that attention. I looked around the stands as I walked and people were pointing and smiling at all 800 of us dogs!

The game was really good because my HOME TEAM won! The sun was in our eyes for maybe 2 innings and then it was PURE baseball heaven.
Take ME out to the ballgame again, Mommys!

Going home seemed a little longer than going to the ballgame. I am sure it was not really longer. In fact, there was less traffic to contend with. I was happy to settle down on my OWN bed, though. I had sweet baseball dreams all night.

Wow Noodles was a celeb for the day, and got to meet like 87 million other puppers and watch a ballgame. Did you get any hot dogs to eat and a beer or two, Oh, bet that topped off your happy thought!
