One Thousand, Awesome A's, One Hundred and Stuff

So I was watching a video this morning - the morning AFTER my team lost its big football game.

The VIDEO is called The Three A's of Awesome, by Neil Pasricha. WHO is he? He is just a guy whose life started to not be so good - failed marriage, friend's suicide, bad economy. . . so he started a blog which championed 1000 Awesome things to celebrate - like being the first one to get your plate served at dinner. And the point of his whole blog is to remind people to celebrate the little successes we all have and usually forget while we wallow in our sorrows. His little blog went on to win a Webbie for Best Blog. All of which is just an explanation of who he is and what gives him his cred.

Anyhow, his video is about the three things he found that help us see the good in life: Attitude, Awareness and Authenticity. I have that - I have ATTITUDE, I am AWARE that I am a Pug Princess, and I am AUTHENTICALLY great. I have those things going for me already. His chat had me thinking, though,
about my Hundred Happy Thoughts from last year and how fun it was to write them.

And how much better they made me feel when I was a little down, like today. So I think I am going to start another HUNDRED. But what?

CONTEST ALERT!!!!

I plan to START on Chinese New Year - January 31 - and get a leg up on The Year of the Horse (hey. . . that was an unintended pun there). So help me out with some ideas, Okay?

You have until Midnight (Pacific Time) on January 29 to submit suggestions. I will randomize the entries and chose one. Whoever submitted the idea I chose will win a prize. Not sure what it is BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT and fitting for Chinese New Year.

Put your thinking caps on now! The Checkered Flag drops NOW!

Noodle, this is such a wonderful idea! I wasn't in blogville when you did this last year, so I'm going to have to poke my nose back to see what happiness you listed up last year.

We are not a sports family, but we did hear about the game yesterday. Specifically, the unsportsman-like behavior of one particular person. We are sorry your team lost, especially to some sore winners. As we read on Twitter, apparently lots of people are now Bronco fans. We just hope that the winner and the winner's fans have some respect for everyone else.

We absolutely think you should do your 100 Happy Things again. And we may even join you. It's very important that we remember the good things, especially when things aren't looking good. What about breaking it up and doing 10 things a month for 9 months then 5 for the last two months? Or some other division? That way you aren't pressured to come up with everything at once.

Hi Noodles. You forgot the fourth "A" though - ADORABLE. That is a quality you most certainly possess!

My happy thought: All the wonderful people that work at pug rescues and the life-changing work they do - for both pugs and humans!

My other happy thought is BABY CARROTS.

-Love,
Sid.
