This is BY FAR the most exciting part of my day |
So, I was, um, planning on posting pictures of you all for the contest. But UNFORTUNATELY I did not get a single entry for the PARTY HAT PICTURE CONTEST.
Not One.
I am totally unprepared to write a blog today. I guess I will jump ahead a write a review of my latest Chewy.com treat.
Molly and I got the opportunity to review some treats for Chewy.com last month. We decided we wanted to try Merrick BIG BRUSH DENTAL BONES and TEXAS TOOTHPICKS. We had no idea what they were at the time, but we know Merrick is a great company that cares about what goes in our lil' bodies.
We chose these particular treats because we CARE ABOUT OUR teeth and gums. And I know for me brushing is pretty much not an option. Are you familiar with the dragon Toothless from "How to Train Your Dragon" parts one and two? Well, I am like him - I can hide my teeth at any time. On whim. And especially when Mommy comes at me with a toothbrush.
So Molly and I figured this was the best of all worlds - a treat that will clean our teeth and freshen our breaths.
Now you can read all about them because I linked to the Merrick pages for each product. The biggest selling point about both of these treats is they are completely digestible. They are also grain-free and gluten-free. This is important especially for TOY breeds, like Molly and me.
At first we thought the size of both treats was TOO BIG.
Especially the toothpick! It looks like one of those mini-baseball bats kids always want to get at the big league games. Yes, it really is that big. . . LOOK ------------------------------------------->
But if you look closely you will see lines scored along the toothpick. These are spots where it can be broken into smaller pieces. And this is totally doable for small mouths like Molly's.
The bone is large. Large even for me who has a more SUBSTANTIAL sized mouth. But it can be cut into smaller, more manageable pieces and still do its job of cleaning my teeth. Merrick does make a smaller size bone, in case you don't feel like cutting the larger one down.
Molly and I CONCUR - these are top-notch treats by any standard. They taste good - like food, not chemicals. They are toothsome without being damaging to our teeth, too. And I don't know about Molly, but I do know the V-E-T noted that for my age my teeth were in pretty good shape. It must be the MERRICK BIG DENTAL BONE and MERRICK TEXAS TOOTHPICK. I have been SAMPLING them for a couple of weeks now.
As far as our TRICKWORTHY meter. . . . well I give these a 2-3 paws up. I will definitely do tricks for them but nothing outrageous like dancing on my back legs.
Thanks Chewy.com for another wonderful adventure into TREATVILLE. We really enjoyed this one.
