Wake Me Up Before You Go Go . . .

Hi FURiends. Happy Thursday. This has been a FAST week, don't you think. I swear it was just Monday and here we are in the waning days of the week. I think part of that perceived speed is really just the feel of shorter days. It's dark at MY normal wake up time and it is DARK at dinner time. Those are my daily bench marks. I plan everything around them.

As you can see from this AWFUL photo, thanks Mommy, I am struggling to stay awake today. I got to bed early enough. I am just tired. Tired and . . . chilled. Therefore my cuddling with Mommy have been more often and much LONGER. Clearly it is not just me who is struggling.

I want to let you in on a little secret - I am ALREADY planning my Halloween costume. I am going to SHARE my selection process now and then through the MONTH until we reach that magical of magical days - HALLOWEEN.

I like dress-up therefore I loves loves loves Halloween. As a refresher, here are some of my past favorites

As Fall Carries On, Costumes Come Out Of Storage

It is THAT time of the year - when costumes start coming out of storage and onto unsuspecting PETS. You have already seen my PINK HAIR which I totally ROCK! I actually love how it falls across my shoulders and tickles my nose. I can wear it all day and FEEL GOOD about myself.

Molly is compliant for a lot of costumes but she does not really like hats. She is not really standing still in this picture but luckily Cousin E is an awesome photographer and captured her perfectly.

Only Cousin E can put costumes on Sunshine the Cat. And Sunshine will tolerate it for quite a while before it HAS to come off. No one else can do that to her. And yes, there is always a retaliation of some sort.

Me? I'm the easy one. Just flash a treat at me and I will wear almost anything. And as the BIG DAY gets closer, Mommy starts prepping new costumes or primping old ones. All I do is answer the door in them . . I used to Trick or Treat when Mommy #1 was a young girl.

Hey Tiffy! Wanna Play Dress-Up?

It was FUN at first. Then Noodles pulled out this rack of a ZILLION different costumes and my Sweet Tiffy Mouth hit the floor! I couldn't decide if I was in HEAVEN or not. . . .

All of a sudden, after the 10th costume or so. . . it seemed more like PURGATORY than HEAVEN.

Pondering Halloween

It's coming. It's on the horizon. IT WILL SOON BE HERE!

I am talking about that day every DOG dreads and every dog parent LOVES - dress-em-up-in-costume Halloween. From the look on Molly's face you can certainly see she has no love of costumes.

I, on the other hand, am a PUG and therefore not beholding to the usual rules. I love to dress up. Who can forget my flying pig costume? Well, that one I didn't love so much as it was 90 degrees out that day and HOT in that costume. But the karate one?

Now that is one groovy costume.

This year I am thinking of something in the STARS. What could it be? Stay tuned and find out. . . in, say. . . .about 25 days.

Magic TODOings in the Air - It's Halloween EveryPUGGY!!!!!

I know most of you THINK you have seen my 2013 Halloween costume. But if you REALLY think about it, I never officially wear the same costume twice. I MIGHT wear it unofficially, sometimes. Just for a giggle or something.
So LAST week you saw me in my Pig With Wings costume for a PHOTO shoot at PetSmart. It was a last minute decision by ME because at the time my REAL costume was still in the planning stages.

After we came home from this affair, I told my Mommy #2 we had to get busy on my REAL costume toot sweet. So she brought out the MACHINE:

Next thing I know, I am being measured and turned all over. Then I get fabric thrown over my head and pins stuck in my fur! It was OUTRAGEOUS! Then it was Molly's turn. At the end of a MILLION hours she had these sitting on the counter to be tried on:

We tried them on. They looked cute so we figured it was a WRAP! Costumes ready for HALLOWEEN!!!

BUT we were wrong.

I don't know about you, but I feel PRETTY.

Yarn comes out of the office and each color was scrutinized next to the TUTUs. Then Mommy got real busy like with her knitting NEEDLES and after a zillion movies, one football game and an episode of "Phinneas and Ferb" she had these:

Mommy had done it!  Molly and I are OFFICIALLY the cutest pumpkins on the BLOCK!

Positively Pugoween

Every year this rescue group called PugSavers (out of Sacramento) hosts a Halloween fete for pugs and pug mixes. It is a lot of fun even though the drive is LONG (at LEAST one hour from our house).

What is most fun about this event is the chance to meet up with our BESTEST pug pals and their families. We all live kinda distant from each other so every chance we get to visit is PRIME TIME.

In attendance were: ME, Bellatrix, Spencer B, Zoey and Phoebe, Beebe and Brady.

My partner in crime, Bellatrix, and I made to rounds begging for anything we could get. Usually this was pizza because that was what EVERYONE BUT US PUGS had for lunch. Note how I am WHISPERING in Belli's ear about something I have observed. She countered with a HEAD BUTT to let me know she agreed.

Then our Mommys broke it up.


I think there might have been close to a MILLION pugs in attendance. Every where I looked there was a pug and a few mixes. We all sniffed hello, a few played. I think mostly we just drank water (it was a very warm day) and BEGGED.

Towards the end of the play time was the HALLOWEEN COSTUME contest. It was broken down into 6 categories:

• Boys Bought
• Boys Homemade
• Girls Bought
• Girls Homemade
• Group Bought Group Homemade

None of us won anything but here are a couple of pics from our group:

Beebee was Glinda the Good Witch. I didn't get a picture of Brady because he dashed away. He was a handsome gallant with a black cape. 

 That FUNNY girl Bellatrix was a Fallen Angel. Considering she does NOT like to wear clothing of ANY KIND, she was a trooper. I think she looked great and deserved a participation award.

Zoey was a Captain Hook and Phoebe was Tinker Belle. Their clever Mommy made their clothes from some BABY CLOTHES! Didn't she do a fantastic job?

I PUGsonally think they deserved to win one of the homemade costumes: either individual or group. But shockingly they did not.

Neither did I! It seems the judges had a hard time thinking of me as a girl considering my costume -

Like I have said before and I will keep saying - NO ONE SAID ALL STORM TROOPERS ARE BOYS!

I am working FURiously on my Halloween Costumes!

OMD! OMD! I think I am going to run out of TIME!!!!
So much to do and so little time! First there is the PugPros  PUG-O-WEEN on October 16 and then the PugSavers PUGOWEEN on October 23!
THEN there is the BIG day itself HALLOWEEN! What's a PUG to do?????
