A WORDsmithy Wednesday That's Hoppin'

I have decided to change it up a bit today. Instead of having a WORDLESS WEDNESDAY, especially since I have so much trouble complying, that I'd like to do a Wordsmithy day.

What's a WORDSMITHY day? Well, for starters

word·smith
ˈwərdˌsmiTH/
noun
  1. a skilled user of words.

I love the sound of that, don't you? And I really love words. So today I am going to discuss the word EMPATHY because we do NOT have enough of it in the world today. Empathy is one of those things we need to ALL GET ALONG. When you EMPATHIZE with someone, you understand what they feel. You might even FEEL what they feel. And in the end, you are more compassionate about others and how they feel.

I was trawling around Facebook today and someone I loves loves loves posted this fantastic video about, of all things, the WORD I had chosen for today's blog - EMPATHY. Take a look. I think it is brilliant.

Okay, MAYBE I like this video because it has Mark Ruffalo, The Incredible Hulk/ Dr. Bannon. But maybe. . .

It just sang to me. I really try to be empathetic and understand everypuggy. If we all tried this now and then the world would certainly be a better place for all. And imagine - no more wars based on cultural or religious differences. It wouldn't help the economic wars, unfortunately. . .

But. . . every little bit helps.

EMPATHY

The Power of Words

I was reading the newspaper with my Mommys. We do this everyday because it is important to be informed. On this particular day (Yesterday) there was a stirring story about a Note.

Note, you say? What is so special about a note?

Well this note happened to be written 11 years ago today - from one of the World Trade Center towers. It was from a man who was trapped on the 84t floor of the building along with 12 other persons. He wrote the note and tossed it out of the window hoping it would find its way to someone who could help them. He did not know the building was going to collapse trapping and killing all inside.

Fast forward 11 years later and his note finds its way to his family. On the note were

FIVE WORDS

84th Floor
West Office
12 people trapped

Those 5 little words have changed history - not just for the family of the writer - Randy Scott - but for the rest of the United States of America.

For the family, it changed how they thought he died. Sadly, he did not die painlessly nor quickly, as they had hoped.

For the rest of us - it added 1 more NAME to the list of HEROES from that horrible day. Randy Scott had attempted to save 12 people by using the only thing available to himself at that time - THE POWER OF WORDS.

Words can move people - words can move nations.

I wish Randy Scott's words could have saved himself and the 12 persons trapped with him. Since they did not, I want to empower these words to let us never forget what September 11 means to all of us:

The Unity of our NATION and the preservation of our FREEDOM.

Friday Wrap Up

So a lot went down this week, doncha think? What with the WORDS and Mr. JOBS. I was laying in my COMFY PLACE (crate) thinking about it all and trying to put it in perspective. What, you say, could that BE, Noodles?

Well, I guess I will share with you my FRIDAY WRAP UP of the World From A BOWL of NOODLES.

Monday and Tuesday
We concluded that in general PETS RULE. Like WE didn't already know this . . . but once in a while I think our humans need to be reminded just how special we are. Well, okay, maybe not OUR humans but others . . . non pet owners, pet haters, and those who mistreat animals because they think it is FUN. A PET, ALL of us, brings such joy to our families and communities. Our love is unconditional and our willingness to obey can be bought with a treat. All in all, the world is a much better place with PETS. Along those lines, we said hello to a few new fosters who I hope will all find their forever FAMILIES real soon.

Wednesday
Word games. I loves loves LOVES me some word games although usually my Mommys don't realize I am playing a WORD game with them when I yip and grumble PLAYFULLY. They GET IT cuz they laugh and gesture at me as I am supposedly acting silly. Nah, Mommy, it's just my WORDS. So I posted a word game to play and many of you joined in the fun

Noodles - SHOCK
Stewie -  SHOOK
Payton -  SPOOK (Thinking of PUG-O-Ween?)
Anonymous -  SMOCK
Slimmers - STOCK (cuz that's what their Daddy does)
Benny & Lily - Stuffie (say what???)
Sid - SPORK, SHACK
Marlene - STORK (Her mommy is having an ALIEN in 32 days)
Luna - STARK
Frankie Furter - SHARK (my fave hockey team)
DW - SPARK
Tweedles was confused
Hayley didn't play but said she LOVED word games

Also Wednesday I BLOGged for BOWLS to help feed orphan pets. I hope we earned a lot of bowls of food.

Thursday
Master of the Universe, Steve Jobs died (I really am not being irreverent just clever). He changed our world (some would argue for the worse but I don't think so) and patterned a way of thinking that only a few ever have. He told graduates to go out and experience life. He told consumers that music and messages can go with us anywhere. For us pugs - well he created another way our PROUD HUMANS can carry MILLIONS of adorable pictures of us everywhere.

Friday
Here we are at the end of the week and life goes on. For me I see a WALK or two in my future . . . a nice BIG bowl of FOOD and some SNACKS (PUH-leez!!!) . . . and a snuggle BETWEEN my MOMMYS. Life is good - let's take the time to SAVOR IT!
