Noodles: "Did you know Chewy.com carries pharmaceuticals now?"
Moose: "No! You don't say!
Sunshine: "Of course they do. They are a full service site for PETS!"

So much can happen at the water cooler. It is where all of the OFFICE GOSSIP happens. Sometimes, it is where the best decisions are made, as well - like who gets Rocky Raccoon or Lamb Chop for the day? Sometimes, it is just the best place in the world to BOND and get to know one another.
In the past we did not do this because we had a small water bowl. It sat in the corner and we'd wander over when thirsty. But that was before that FATEFUL DAY when Chewy.com asked us to REVIEW the Drinkwell Stainless Multi-Pet Pet Fountain. The KEY here is MULTI-PET. Up until now, all of our watering "holes" were decidedly SOLO.
CAN dogs and cats REALLY get along? |
Being the SUPERSPORTS that we are, we said SURE, not knowing what we were in for. But a water fountain sounded like fun so we anxiously awaited the package. According to the literature about the Drinkwell fountain, a fountain is really a sensible way to provide healthy clean water for any pet. Because it mirrors a natural water source (free flowing), it encourages pets to drink more.
(I dunno about that, though, we are all house born and bred so the "in the wild" thing is kinda foreign to us.)
In any case, the Drinkwell is dishwasher safe (except for the pump), holds 1 gallon of water, has an adjustable flow with 1 - 5 water streams, and has an almost silent pump.
It arrived when My Mommys were in Florida and so it had to WAIT to be assembled. It was worth the wait, if I can GET AHEAD of myself here.
The many parts that need to be assembled
After a lot of HUFFING and PUFFING and "I DON'T KNOW"s, Mommy FINALLY had the water fountain assembled. It isn't that the instructions are DIFFICULT. Not at all. There are just a lot of them and the order of assembly was weird to Mommy. Afterward, though, the instructions all made sense and it came out fine.
Forgive the CROOKED flow restrictor. SOME PUGGY messed with it pre-photo |
WHA' the PUG, MOM!!! |
Now you do have to replace the water filters every 2-3 weeks and they cost about $1.50 - $3.00 each depending on where you buy them. Chewy.com currently has a special on them - 3 for $5.03 (that's 58% off). But here's the thing - the fountain totally works whether or not you use a filter. It is NICE to have filtered water, but it is not a HAVE TO. And Drinkwell recommends that the whole fountain be cleaned at least when the filters are changed and that is okay. Like I said, all of it except the pump can go in the dishwasher. Chewy.com also sells the cleaning tools if you'd rather clean the fountain by PAW - it is 57% off right now HERE.
We are happy happy happy to have the fountain and its tasty water at our disposal. I would even go so far as recommend it to anyPUGGY thinking of investing in a fountain or in replacing a different one. The Drinkwell multi-pet fountain is a nice appliance and it so far has LIVED UP TO its press.
We give it the Casa de Noodles
** I received free of charge from Chewy.com ONE Drinkwell Stainless Multi-Pet pet Fountain for the purpose of trying it and seeing if I love/hate it. All opinions in this blog are mine alone and I received no monetary compensation for them.

We are so glad you love your water fountain, i think it must be like those water holes in Africa where all the different animals gather during the day to drink except at your house no one gets eaten. Our parents would NEVER EVER be able to put that thing together though, and they sometimes struggle with the art of filling our simple water bowl up....geeze.....and I think gussie would be afraid of it cos he barks at the darn empty pickle bucket on the back deck. Now if Stellie Rose was here she would be swimming in that thing cos everytime she would go get a drink of water her face and neck would be soaking wet. Who knows?????
Fanks for sharing....mags and gusser
