So HOT The SKY Was On FIRE!

The original picture lacks the intensity of the
real sunset. This was taken at 8:20pm.
 IPhone Photo

Mommy took this photo of the sunset the other night - the night it was still over 100 degrees at 6pm. She said this photo does not do it justice because the colors should be MORE intense. So I am gonna try and FIX that using my handy dandy photo editing SOFTWARE.

This is adding 11200 k to the color. It is closer
to real life because the underside of the cloud cluster
is richer, brighter

I struggled a bit to get the right color concentration to imitate the intense colors in the sunsetty sky. My software is just not precise enough. But I did manage to get one corrected photo that captured the FEEL of that 90 PLUS degree sunset.

Are your cheeks burning? Can you just feel
the heat coming at you?

This photo brings out major FEELS for me - and makes me want to

In a COOL place

Help! I'm MELTING!!!

FOLKS! It is so hot here. Do you remember when I was complaining about it being cold and wet despite being SPRING? Well, I take it all back. We skipped SPRING and have headed straight into the FURNACE of Summer!

I am inside with the AC running and it is still

Hot Tamales!!!

It has been soooooooo HOT lately. I mean H-O-T. It was 109 on Friday, 106 on Saturday and 101 on Sunday. And Sunday added high humidity. I felt like I was melting. Actually, I am pretty sure I melted a little.

I tried to play it off a little by pretending I was in Hawaii. Know what? It did not work at all. I was (am) still hot. And there was no sweet tropical breeze to cool me off.

Lucky for me we have Air Conditioning. It ran overtime and will probably cost me every penny in my piggy bank. But it will be totally worth it.

SERIOUS STUFF

Since I have been inside so much keeping cool, I have had a lot of time to ponder the current problems in the world. First of all - Hurricane Harvey. Harvey hit Texas, and especially Houston and the greater Houston area, very hard. There is widespread flooding and destruction. Plus there is the very real danger of toxic and/or compromised water, critters like gators and snakes in the waters, and once the water recedes mold. The cleanup and recovery is going to take a long long time. I don't want to list all of the help organizations here but will put a couple of links to a list of them. Help if you can.

On my sidebar you should see Lucy Pet and Chewy.com. Both of these FANTASTIC companies are helping and have links for ways you can help.

Also Hurricane Irma has strengthened and is threatening Florida. This is an extremely powerful storm and even it doesn't directly hit Florida it could still cause a lot of problems there. Keep them in your thoughts.

Due to the hot summer here, there are a lot of Wildfires in the West and North West. Many people are being displaces or burned completely out. So be aware of the organizations helping them and give when and what you can.

Sometimes a small gestures makes a BIG impact.

Fry Day Cuz It's Gonna Be ANOTHER HOT One

This weather is CAH-RAY=ZEE lately! Well, it kinda has for years now. I expect HOT in September, half of which is the last part of Summer. But this cool one week and scorching the next - well it has me in a DITHER, I tell you! A DITHER

*Note Number TWO of Noun. . . that is so totally how I feel!

AnyWHO

Today is no exception - it's gonna be HOT again. Too hot for a puggy like me to wander around the yard, sit in the sun, take the in sights, sounds, and smells. And I am SO OVER IT! Give me the temperate temps the SOUTH BAY is famous for - the sunny but mild days with a fog-kissed breeze. Those are perfect days for a flat faced BEAUTY like MOI.

Changing Subjects, ARE you all gonna watch the BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE this weekend? I sure am!!! The next one isn't until 2033 and I am pretty sure MY PRESENT INCARNATION will not be around to see it. In spirit, maybe. But I am so excited about this one I cannot miss it. Blood moon. . . been there, done that. But with an eclipse??? Hot Diggety DOG.

And that's about it. I have my BIG Walkathon next weekend so I am decreasing my workouts a little to preserve my strength. I am also CARB LOADING so I will be at my peak. I mean, 5K is a pretty far distance for somepuggy my size. If you have a chance, check it out. Looks like a lot of fun and my FURiends from Woodrow Wear (therapeutic sox for dogs of all sizes - I wear them on my front paws when I go on walkies because I tend to drag them) will be there so I can give them lots of cuddles and kisses.

I will probably talk about this A LOT next week leading up to the MAIN EVENT.

Have a SUPER weekend and Keep Cool.

Pug on a HOT Tin Roof - not really

(I have neither a tin roof not am I on top of it. I just liked the way that sounded when I typed it)

Knew I'd get your attention with BACON

It was HOT here Monday. It was so hot that one could FRY BACON on the sidewalk. It was so hot I could not move from the AC floor vent. . . sorry Sunshine. You gotta move faster of you want to HOG prime territory like that.

Up until Monday we were wondering where SPRING went to. Actually, we still are as we seem to have segued from WINTER straight into late SUMMER!

It is HOT - the kind of dry heat that puts us all in danger of wildfires. The hills are especially dry this year since we have had THREE LONG YEAR of drought.

Maybe the milder SPRING temps will return next week and we can PUT SUMMER in its proper place.

In the meantime, I just sat poolside and sipped a mint julep. Heat is fun when you don't have to walk, work, drive, shop, etc. . .
