Last weekend was CONSUMED by the prepping and arrival of Mommy #1's 16th birthday. It is a big deal, as I understand it, and there was so much todoing around the house that at times I just left. The back yard was such a nice respite for me and the weather was perfect - warm but not hot with a nice cooling breeze. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Finally the day arrived and the house was invaded with girls. Let me clarify here - we are a household of girls. Even all the pets, we think (not sure about the birds) are girls. These were girls I had never met - at least most of them I didn't know. So it was unique.
Molly and I were shuttled upstairs where we were confined to Auntie T's bedroom. That was cool as we got to watch FOOTBALL (the Forty-Niners). We barked, too . . . a lot. . . Hey! There were strangers in the house and we had to defend what is ours. Sunshine the Cat disappeared as she usually does when there are strangers in the house. We all assumed she was in one of her many hiding places. She showed up at the patio door at 9PM all sad and missing us. As if!
Finally the party ended but NOT THE WORK. As soon as the last guest left, all of the cleaning started all over again. This time the work was punctuated with yawns and groans, though. I did my job and stayed close to my Mommys to make sure they did a good job. Then, when all was clean and back to normal, Mommys sat down for a little while and I snuggled between them.
Happy 16th Birthday Mommy #1! I love love LOVE you so so MUCH!
