Friday, Friday, Friday

It's Friday. I am so happy the week is ending. There is something magical about the weekend, don't you think?

Friday is a good time to BE A FRIDA (like Kahlo). That means be FIERCE. Be YOURSELF. Why? Because Friday is the beginning of a weekend of possibilities.

There is a lot going on today. The local BASEBALL TEAM has their HOME Season Opener today. It is, unfortunately, a gray rainy day and there could be a game delay if the rain gets heavier. BUT that is not my point. My POINT is it is NOW baseball season and I, for onepug, am so happy about that.

Today also marks the semi-final mark of MARCH MADNESS. I know, it is April and so it seems weird to say MARCH MADNESS. But they are down to the Final Four and that means that soon it will be history. I kinda tuned out when Gonzaga fell out of it. WHY? No reason, really. I just like saying GONZAGA.

And TODAY marks the countdown for two major events for my Mommys: The last season of Game of Thrones AND the opening of the much awaited Avenger: Endgame. That's exciting stuff! I have sat upon their laps during many a viewing of both GOT and MCU.

Finally, today is the end of the work week which means EVERYPUGGY is a little happier and a little more relaxed.

While I am thinking about it, GO SJ SHARKS! They are (limping) into the playoffs and their final home game is tomorrow. I love my TEAM. Viva los tiburones! My Mommys are going to the game tomorrow night. I know they are excited.

Me at the Shark Tank

So THAT is why I like FRIDAYS. I am not a big fan of the week going by so quickly, however. And the older I get, the faster those weeks fly by. And I am not doing anything any differently. Honestly! I get up, do my bidness and check the neighborhood news, EAT, nap, check out the yard and enjoy the neighborhood smells. MAYBE take a good walk, EAT, nap and finally go to bed. MAYBE, if the weather is nice and warm, I sit outside in a sunbeam and snooze a little. So I don't understand why the weeks fly by faster and faster and faster.

But THAT is another topic for another TIME.

The New Mellow Molly

I'm CHILL. How About YOU?

Molly is a worry wort. Truly. She worries about every little sound and light change. She worries when everyone is home and worries when they are away. In fact, one of the reasons she found her forever home with us was her worrying. But the worst is when I am away. She cannot handle that at all. She whines. She barks. She yips. In other words, she FLIPS OUT. Short of me always being by her side (this is just not possible although I am mostly with her), Mommy knew she needed a solution.

She was perusing the latest Modern Dog Magazine (I let her borrow it) and came across something she never really considered before - CBD (cannabidiol). Have you heard of it? It is something that I know a lot of my older FURiends use for a variety of reasons. Anxiety is not one of the reasons, that I know of. But according to this thingy Mommy read, it was highly recommended for ANXIETY.

I borrowed this pic from the INTERNET. I noticed
a lot of CBD related memes using PUGS.
WHY?

So she followed the suggestions and went online to Honest Paws, a CBD distributor. She looked it over, read the reviews and finally decided to give it a try. BUT it was quite difficult to decide which product to use! There are oil, treats, supplements, and so on. A whole bunch of products using CBD. The reviews of the products and the retail site were all good so she TOOK THE CHANCE and ordered the CBD oil for Molly. She wanted to be able to control the dosage more than a treat would allow. I lobbied BIG for the treats; but Mommy pointed out they WERE NOT for me so, no.

It took JUST DAYS for the package to arrive. The oil was prettily packaged and all of the instructions were included. It was so easy. The first test was on the next Monday when Molly's Mommy was taking her on a car ride. Molly does NOT do well on car rides. So she tried a HALF dosage (she didn't know how Molly would react) just before she left. That was NOT the best thing to do. It did not have time to really get into her system and Molly's anxiety skyrocketed. Then she got all pant-y and pace-y and wouldn't settle down. Then, all of a sudden (after they stopped), she calmed down and settled into her car-spot. JUST LIKE THAT. The return trip was without the erratic behavior.

I wasn't there so I can't say for sure how extreme Molly's behavior was. But I think her first reaction was more because she couldn't figure out how she was feeling. Then she just gave into it. My point is, it appears to have worked.

We have only tried it one other time and that was when everyone in the house left for the day and we were home alone. Molly was FREAKING OUT, as usual so Mommy DOSED her up. She calmed down the rest of the day.

So it appears that Mommy has stumbled across something that really does the job AND is completely  safe and natural. I think we are in the CBD club to stay. I don't know if we will be loyal to Honest Paws as there are many places to get pet products with CBD in them. We'll see. For now it is just good that Molly has a way to calm her Anxieties.

** This is not really a review. We are not paid by Honest Paws or Modern Dog Magazine to write this post. We paid for the product and liked it. So we are sharing only.

April Fools Smell My Shoes and Other Silly Stuff

I woke up this morning and I felt like a CAT. I think I am turning into a CAT. Sunshine thinks she is the ONLY feline in the casa but I have news for her

  • I like CAT food. Every time she "shares" her crunchy food by tossing it over the edge, who is at ground central? Yours Truly
  • I am comfortable in CAT environs. I like sleeping in a BOX! I love climbing up on her CAT TREE or snoozing in her CAT CONDO
  • I make a MAD DASH for the kitchen when Mommy opens a CAT FOOD container
  • I could use a CAT BOX. Other than being inside, how does it differ from the pebbles and dirt I use daily?

It just seems to me the transition to CAT would be pretty simple. Of course, there are drawbacks. Like, due to my shape, I cannot fully lick my body. But to be truthful, the older SUNSHINE the CAT gets, the harder it is for her to reach her mid-back. And - to be honest - I am not much of a leaper. I cannot even leap on the stool so FORGET about the kitchen chairs and table. I get in the cat tree by climbing INTO my toy bin and lifting my body up from there. The toy box is more than halfway to the bottom of the CAT TREE. I have not figured out how to safely get down.

Usually whining works.

And I have been working on my EARS - making them stand straight up rather than hang adorably down. I think I have mastered it - well one side at a time, anyhow.

So there you have it. I am pretty confident that I can master this new life. What do you think? Is catdom in my future?

Friday is Get Up and GO, Day!

Actually, no it isn't.  This is where you can find me.Snuggled up right next to Mom. Even ol' Mister Sun is taking his sweet ol' time rising. It isn't gloomy like rainy yesterday, but it sure is NOT bright and sunny, either. So I am happy sitting right here and reading, watching tv, or whatever.

Molly is so "tired" she buried her hear in blankets and I can't tell which is her front and which is her backside. Can you?

All in all, I fully expect all of my adventuring to happen tomorrow when the SUN comes out and I convince Mommy to take me on a looooooooog walk.

Happy Friday EveryPuggy!
