Trying Hard to Keep it Wordless - and Failing

You all remember Lulu? She went back home Saturday to be with her Mami. I know she missed her a lot. I'm okay with it although it was kinda fun to have a youngun hanging around.

So Molly likes to be the center of attention. It happens. Especially when you are a blonde beauty as she is. Because, you know what? She GETS a lot of attention.

Musical Beds

This is LULU changing beds - again. It is constant movement with her. I think it is because there are so many choices here whereas at home she has only one bed. AND most of the time at home, she is on her Mommy's lap.

But my Mommy is usually in her office working during the day and I sit right under her chair AND as close to her feet as possible. It makes me happy. Molly often sits by the front door so she can BARK at the MAIL person. If she decides to sit in one of the office beds, she will pick what ever bed I am in and force me out. On occasion we occupy the same bed - if I am feeling particularly peckish and won't move on. You see, it really does not matter to me because I always have my Mommy's feet to sit near (and sometimes, on).

So Lulu will venture from bed to bed to bed, just to explore the different perspectives, I suppose. Or maybe she is like Goldilocks - this one is too soft. . . this one is too hard. . . this one. . .

If it makes her happy, then I am all for it. I want my GUESTS to feel right at home and THAT is why I have no problem sharing my things. . . even my food, kinda, sorta. Hmmmm. I guess I really DO have a problem with that BUT I have no choice. So . . .

Our Current Normal

Today SOME things got back to normal. For one thing, the painter is done and only has to come back and do some touch up. For another, my Cousin C, the youngest of the household, started school today so she is not downstairs snacking and watching streaming tv on her computer. She will be gone until late afternoon now. So it will be just Mommy #2 and us.

As you can tell, though, we still have our house guest Ms Lulu with us. She is like one of the gang and just does what we do. Today we watched The Today Show for a while as the rest of the household got up, dressed and out the door. We like the show a lot for it's variety of topics and its personable hosts. This photo shows us listening to Savannah Guthrie interviewing Bodie Miller and his wife re their new projects.

Then Mommy got going with laundry and kitchen clean-up. AND NOW she is settled into her office to do some work. She works from home, you know, and that means we get a lot of together time even during the week. She doesn't like it (the working from home) - but I DO.

This is a view of us "HELPING" Mommy do her account reconciliations. She says a lot of HBO words when she does them.

It is supposed to be HOT today as well so we have to plan our potty breaks accordingly. It is too hot on the NON-GRASS (it was a victim of the drought and Mommy, Aunt B and Aunt T have not figured out what is the best solution) to do our bidness later in the day.

So that is about it for the Monday version of excitement here.

Wrapping Up Lulu's Visit - Two More Days

As I am writing this, Lulu and Molly have brought their playtime inside. They were in the backyard running back and forth and barking at birds. They were having a lot of fun. Then THEY asked to come inside and wouldn't you know it? THEY KEPT PLAYING. Up the stairs, down the hall, down the stairs, and so on. I don't know where they get all that energy. I play sometimes. I run sometimes. But you can count to 10 and I will be DONE.

It is hard to believe that Lulu's time with us is almost up. We really enjoy having her here. She pretty much hangs out with Aunt T and sleeps with her. So each of us dogs have a dedicated HUMAN sleep companion and that gives Sunshine the rest of the house for her MIDNIGHT wanderings. Or whatever she does after we all go to bed. She makes a real show of settling down and yawning and play-sleeping just before bedtime. BUT then I hear her lurking around in the wee hours and I know she is only pretending to join the household in night-night time.

ANYHOW, Lulu loves Molly and waits for her to get up in the am so they can play and chit chat. They spend a lot of time near each other. We all do, as a matter of fact - even tho in the photo below Molly is missing.

I can't even think of any downside of a Lulu visit! We get extra companionship and that's fun. And as a bonus, the "Mommy's gone and I am sad behavior" bribery of the first couple of days means we all get extra treats. And believe me, that is ALWAYS a good thing.

Lulu's huMOM returns on Saturday and I know she cannot wait.

Sharing My Time and Mommy(s) Monday

Do you all remember our FURiend Lulu? That is her in the pink collar. She is visiting us for some days while her HUmom is in Palm Springs. We loves loves loves it when Lulu visits because she represents a change from our regular routine. In some respects, she has to conform to OUR schedule - eating, walking (or not when its hot) and potty. BUT in other respects, having her here means MORE playtime and MORE sharing. In fact, it means a lot more sharing of everything like our myriad beds. . . our variety of food and TREATS . . . and most of all, our HUMANS.

Other than on Monday, I don't mind sharing at all. Mondays are just too hard and I admit I am a little needy

Lulu is 3 years old now so she has a completely different energy level than I do. Keeps me on my toes, that's for sure.

Honestly, I thought I was gonna be left to fend for myself and I was just a little upset. So I sassed Mommy and ignored her a little. But she kept getting in my face and asking what was wrong. So finally, I blurted out that I was upset she was leaving me home alone (well, with Sunshine, Molly and Jade) while she traipses off to a wedding! I mean . . . harrrrumph!

That's right - Lulu's mom, is gonna be HOUSE AND PET sitting HERE!!! And Lulu is gonna be here too. I am so excited. You know how much we love having Lulu as a guest here. She is almost like a COUSIN. So I am not mad any more. The casa is gonna be hopping with DOG ENERGY and regular meals.

End of Day Post is Better Than None

Somepuggy, who shall remain nameless (Mommy #2), decided she was TOO BUSY to help with my BLOG today. As if! Doesn't she know it is A-NUMBER ONE-MOST important thing on her daily PLATE? The world simply does not turn without a daily A Bowl of Noodles.

So aside from THAT drama, life was a little more casual today at Casa de Noodles. The construction guys putting in the new floor and stuff did not come so Moose was not freaked out and Molly was not barking non-stop. Me? I'm chill. Gimme an ear skritch or two and I am golden.

Isn't that hilarious? We each have to be near the office and Mommy even though there are two OTHER beds on the other side of the room. And Mommy is oblivious because she is working away. So there you go.

Moose is chill now. He trots outside with us to do our bidness, tail wagging. We will see what happens tomorrow when THIS goes down

YES! Lulu is joining the menagerie for a week beginning tomorrow. This is gonna be FUN.

Lulu Rockin' The Hat

Do you remember our house guest from April - LULU? Well, she is back. I was just complaining to Mommy that I never see Lulu and, truth be told, I kind of missed her. She is funny because she is so young and full of energy. And she is CUTE as anything with her red "beard" and her "Flying Nun" ears. Really, what's not to like? Well, as luck would have it her Mommy and Aunt are both on vacation RIGHT now and couldn't take her with them. So we stood up high on our haunches and said SEND HER TO US!!!!

So Lulu arrived on last Friday night and I am telling you it has been non-stop fun since the minute she arrived. We have been playing chase the pup and wrestling and playing bitey-mouth almost non-stop! I am feeling like a PUPPY again. I think at this point you could say we are a bit like sisters more than FURiends. Yes, we are that close.

Mommy tried to get a VIDEO of Molly and Lulu playing; but true-to-form they stopped playing just as she started recording.

But I think you get the idea. Usually they are much more energetic.

Note the 3 beds lined up. That is because Molly and I were fighting over LULU'S bed and ignoring our own bed. So Mommy added the bed from Molly's crate (that Sunshine the Cat and I use but Molly never uses) so we could all have a bed while she is working. It worked. We happily all nap close to Mommy on our own beds.

All too soon it is time for Lulu to go home. Her Mommy and Aunt return this weekend and will be anxious to have her home. I, PUGsonally, cannot wait for the next time Lulu comes to stay.

The Last Days With Lulu - Her Mommy Returns on Thursday

So. . . what do YOU wanna do . . . I dunno. . . What do YOU
wanna do?

Lulu is entering her 9th day at Case de Noodles. It has been an interesting time dealing with a PUPPY. She has a lot more energy than either myself or Molly. She is mouthy (hahaha, as if I am not) and completely distrusting of Sunshine the Cat (who could care less). BUT she is a good girl and has had no accidents in the house - rang the bells ONCE to be let out - and generally listens when Mommy or Aunt B tell her to do something. She no longer sits by the front door waiting for her Mommy to return (this is partly because I admit to pirating her bed). She is comfortable all over the house and with all HUMAN family members.

And she loves to play. . . and play. . . and PLAY! Have mercy on me does she love to PLAY. It is really good for me because it UPS my steps per day. And the weather has been perfect for staying outside for a while and running around the lawn (our "lawn" is really all weeds since the drought killed off all of our soft cushy grass).

Lulu will be here until Thursday because that is when her Mommy returns from her cruise. I am sure she has had a lot of fun on that big floating city. Lulu sent her a Mother's Day message along with a photo. Smartphones are wonderful for that kind of thing.

I think we will miss Lulu once she returns home BUT I know we will see her now and then. She always has a place with us.

Affirmation Time

Aunt T's Afloat on a Boat

What a VIEW they will have from here!!!!!

Aunt T and her friends took off for a cruise yesterday. They are on a 10 day cruise to Alaska and the Inland Passage. It sounds chilly but - what do I know? All I am concerned about is . . . will there be lots of food? And the answer to that is YES.

Mommy #2 and I took them to the boat in San Francisco. We live a bit more than an hour from San Francisco and so we often have very different weather (microclimates as they are referred to on TV). We did NOT know what to expect once we got there. What we found was a PICTURE PERFECT day.

First we drove to Aunt T's friend's house to pick them and their suitcases up. We were shocked when we got there as they had MUCHO STUFFO! The car looked like this when all was said and done. But it DID all fit with room for passengers. Thank goodness I had a LAP to sit on, huh?

It was a LONG drive aggravated by a nasty accident that actually closed the highway. Luckily we allowed a lot of time. Once we got to The City, there was not a lot of traffic and we were blessed with magnificent views of San Francisco and the Golden Princess - their floating home away from home for the next 10 days.

The first person to meet us was a PORTER. He was there to take ALL of their luggage and extras to their stateroom. He was very funny and very very helpful. He treated them LIKE ROYALTY! Granted, it IS his job. But he did it very very well.

Once they were boarded, I got an extra special tour of the boat - well, really just their stateroom. But I can tell you it is a pretty amazing and BIG BOAT.

Isn't this a wonderful room? It is small, yes.

 Best of all, they will get to see some wonderful parts of AMERICA and CANADA that we just don't see all that often. Mommy said she saw the coastline of Alaska once when she flew to China. But one really does not get the full FLAVOR of the land from that high up, huh?

I cannot wait to see photos and hear all about their adventures when they get back. It is going to be a long long time, though.

On the drive home, we went through downtown and this was our view. Doesn't that just take your breath away? And look at the BLUE SKIES! It was just a magnificent adventure to go there. I have not been to Pug Sunday in San Francisco in a long long time. I think I NEED to do so next month.

I forgot to mention one more thing. While Aunt T and her friends are gone we are caring for their puppy LULU. Can you believe it? What fun. We met Lulu at Christmas when she was about 4 month old. She is 8 months old now and taller than any of us. Still a very small dog, nonetheless. She is still missing her Mom so she is being a little standoffish and won't leave her bed by the front door too much. Except to sit on Aunt B or Mommy's laps. But she is getting happier all the time and I think may even start to play soon. In the meantime, I am sharing ALL OF MY TOYS with her.
